Turbo! Due to the modern morals of mountain visitors (not hikers), I don't even leave poles in huts unattended or hanging on those "designated" spots. Someone comes with cheap 10€ poles, heavy as the devil, and swaps them in such self-service for...

SamoK! I assume you're quite a bit younger, so you'll hear many things "for the first time". Read the "Honor Code of Slovenian Hikers", and many things will be clear to you, and your cynicism will pass too.

Maybe some of us have shaken off the moralistic view of just another leisure activity. Hikers are those who go to the mountains (ok, leave aside the story of hikers and mountaineers), just like fishermen are those who catch fish, footballers those who play football, and cyclists those who ride bikes. Nothing more to it.

With the difference that cyclists must follow traffic rules, fishermen fishing rules, footballers football ones.. Or do you mean that these rules don't apply because it's a leisure activity? And the mountaineering code, which isn't binding or mandatory for moving in mountains (hills, alps... etc.), no one would try to follow it? Because it's imposing moral norms? I think it's just escaping responsibility.

I'd agree with Julius that time has brought changes to the mountains too. Back in our youth, it was taken for granted that no one steals. And it really was like that. You could leave gear anywhere, on the path or in front of the hut, in the hut... Oops, but I remember that on the old Grohat, a hiker swapped my brother's shoes (exactly 40 years ago) and went down to the valley towards Rogovilec with them. The evening before, in conversation with us, he complained that he bought too big ones, but brother's fit him just right. And he "dashed" down early in the morning. Of course, my buddy and I caught up with him before Rogovilec, swapped the shoes without bad words and went back via Arte to Raduha, where we continued the tour together. It was an isolated case that I remember. Now gear is more expensive, higher quality and not affordable to everyone, the media bombard us daily with shows and reports that have little to do with youth upbringing. Last time I watched the movie Gremo mi po svoje for the first time and was horrified. The boys in the movie were already in a dilemma whether they are stealing or not when they took food from the shepherd's hut. If we raise youth like that, no wonder bad habits come to the mountains too. Sadly, we'll have to watch our property everywhere, even under Mrzla gora where we're debating this. Even on this path, poles were stolen from a member of our forum.

>Last time I watched Gremo mi po svoje for the first time and was outright horrified. The boys in the movie were already in a dilemma whether they steal or not when they took food from the shepherd's hut. So they weren't hikers, if I understand correctly. Maybe mountain visitors? Or footballers? No, they don't steal either, if I read correctly.

dprapr, lijaneja, grega z brega: first thanks everyone for the answers. I even laughed heartily at them! So, for Saturday it was plan B, instead of Mrzla gora we visited Rjavina with friends, up the climbing path and over the ridge to Staničeva hut, then a jump to Begunjski vrh - as the sun sets, and then next morning after sunrise, back to the valley via Tominškova. It was wonderful. So, Mrzla gora still awaits me. Fear - well, partly because of the name (Mr-Zla), partly because it has an optional stamp in the booklet, that says something about accessibility, or I drew it that way in my head. I'll check in when I meet her. Happy trails everyone! Valerija

Despite long years of hiking "career", I left Mrzla gora waiting very long. With great respect I tackled it. It deserves it and precisely because of that it's so interesting. To me one of the most beautiful mountains in Kamnik-Savinja Alps at all. You best judge how demanding it is. Caution needed everywhere, experience of course very welcome. Happy trails.

I really like Cold Mountain. But you need to know it's not overly secured with iron. For someone who feels more comfortable if it's (self-)protected, Cold Mountain just isn't the best goal yet. Everyone knows that about themselves. Usually feelings and confidence come with mileage.

Dear friends, I would ask for information about snow cover, if there is any, on the path to the top of Cold Mountain. Thank you in advance Happy in the mountains
