Volk, looks like I was yesterday the first visitor to Krnička gora after your last visit. Noticed in the logbook last entry 27.7.! I headed there from Logarska dolina via Hudi prasek and Latvice. After Krnička gora went to Cold Mountain and descended marked path to Okrešelj. Nice, solitary tour (met only two young mountaineers ascending to Cold Mountain) in wonderful environment. On Cold Mountain they should really take care of the logbook (in the box only crumpled paper).

Dprapr, definitely congrats for the long, demanding and strenuous tour! Yes, with mountains like Krnička it's obviously like that; even if someone marks them they remain largely 'solitary'. Might be due to unpretentious names that don't attract crowds. Probably that's fine.

This year I probably won't visit Mrzla gora yet, but I'm interested in the difficulty from Ravensko kočna (SLO path), compared to the ascent through Turski žleb, traversing the entire Dolgi hrbet ridge, Skuta from the Czech route, i.e. also the wall to the saddle, Jalovec over Škrbina.
So, is the path comparable to the following or is it a 2x-3x harder ascent?

I've already read the thread, it's supposed to be one of the hardest routes, very few fixed protections, even experienced talk about a difficult path, queen of KSA in difficulty, ...

Bah, I've been to Mrzla gora many times already, don't know, doesn't seem so hard to me. Yeah, gotta watch out a bit cuz no fixed protections or markings, occasionally a bit exposed, but no big deal.

Have you conquered Kepo already? MG is a bit "overhyped", cuz you don't find such *paths* elsewhere, only unmarked trails and pathless terrain.

Mr zla gora is really the only one that is less protected than other marked-secured paths; comparing Mrzla gora and the path over Križ that I did, Mrzla gora is much harder, over Križ is very well secured and markings are frequent. But on one side it's OK, because you get up to Mrzla gora quickly and down. Mrzla gora is still unique anyway.

Yesterday, for a change, we chose Logarska Valley as the start. We started at the Rinka waterfall to the Okrešelj hut towards Mrzla gora. Since my last visit, the rock path is newly marked and easier to follow, summit book new too.
Then descent, re-ascent (shortcut a bit) through Turski žleb to Turska gora, down to Kotličevi, final to Brana. Only there visitors, elsewhere alone on top. Worth weekday vacation Back from saddle classic to Okrešelj. Nice short tour in nice weather.

I'm wondering how much harder Mrzla gora is compared to ascents like from Kredarica to Triglav, or to Škrlatica or Kočna because looking at photos it seems very demanding, almost vertical walls to climb, and they say weekend nice so thinking maybe try Sunday, otherwise pick something easier

Mrzla gora is different. Not so many fixed protections, bit of climbing needed. If no problems with that, no panic. Probably not afraid of heights if you did those ascents.
