After a rainy night my friend and I head to Mrzlica. Fog in the valley, which the wind drives into the tops of the Zasavje hills. Higher up we expect sun. But the summit of Mrzlica greets us in thick fog. This does not bother the visitors and you meet someone every few meters. There are quite a few people in the hut and I observe the happenings even more - post "oh, these huts" http://www.hribi.net/trenutnerazmere.asp?slo=1&gorovjeid=25&id=1980 No complaints - service polite and in a few minutes (although there are quite a few visitors in the hut) With my buddy we also decide to check out Čeče (very famous inn for "fried" wedges), we descend and in approx. 45 minutes we are at the inn. The "fried" wedges already smell great and tantalize the taste buds (already at the church) - we drink beer (wedges next time, lunch awaits us at home). From the inn we climb up in approx. 20 minutes via another path to the ridge leading towards Mrzlica and in 25 minutes from Čeče to the parked car - Podmeja. (for the whole route - with stops - we used approx. 3.30 hours) Podmeja - Čeče (inn) - Podmeja Lp

Geppo, we too strolled to Mrzlica that day - just late afternoon. It was quite clear though and not so many visitors. We went to the valley among the last (till dusk at the car).

Mrzlica Last year I described Martin's hike to this peak on the first page and I must do it today too. They were already Martinizing yesterday, today and it looks like according to the forecasts we will still celebrate next weekend too. Today's Sunday morning was marked by fog and rain and even on the top (despite expectation) it did not snow. Snow is successfully melting and the road to the hut is clear (so no sledding). I barely found the hut in the fog but visitors are not bothered by it. Cozy and warm in the hut, service without complaints. But I noticed something interesting: on the wall hangs a wooden sign with the inscription.. Dear hut visitors, we ask you not to cut the food you brought with you on the table and in case you do so, ask the hut staff to lend you a cutting board!! Lp

As Geppo already mentioned, it was foggy on Mrzlica today, occasionally with light rain or drizzle. I'm adding a few more pictures. Regards, Esther and Tadej

At 10:15 we were already at the car. But it seems to me we met somewhere on the path, I just wasn't sure if it was really you.

The outdoor sensor on the thermometer shows -19.4°C. Time just after seven and I immediately get an idea where to go before lunch. Wife doesn't understand (doesn't go to the mountains) what pulls me from the warm bed into such frost. At nine I'm at the transmitters on top of Mrzlica. Wonderful landscape in the cold morning and few visitors on this very visited peak. The road is already good for sledding. On the way I pass a car that ended up by the road. Tire tracks on the steep slope show fierce fight to conquer the incline. Probably the car was relieved that the battle ended! Disturbing in this whiteness are only the yellow marks along the path left by four-legged friends and two-legged folks (guys, throw some snow up there!!) Regards

Geppo, and also with you it's like that, they don't understand us hillwalkers why in such frost we go to the mountains, no we're already two, I hope we're not the only ones, I today went at 6.30 to Čemšeniška planina on the path where I also go in summer, the path wasn't trodden but on the slope it slid quite well in drifts of snow up to my ass, otherwise up to one shoe, it was cold but it was worth it, when you reach the top everything is rewarded. Nice greeting and good luck.
