After prolonged rain today I simply had to go to the mountains. We chose the path from Podmeja to Mrzlica so we wouldn't have to trudge too much through mud. Quite a few visitors, very nice views due to clear air.

This afternoon to Mrzlica from the saddle (Matke). Paths frozen, above Špajzer trees dressed in rime. On top a bit of wind for even more wintry feel. :-)

Already from home I noticed the state of Zasavje peaks. From Čemšenika to Gozdnik all peaks (around 1000m asl) had foggy caps.
Started from Podmeja. The higher I climbed, the more it blew from SW. Snow aplenty, in the hut pleasantly +24C. At Podmeja start at 9am -1.5C, on return +2C. Hut opening hours during holidays on the last photo.

Today's visit to Mrzlica was quite fitting to the mountain's name, cold wind, from Podmeja the road icy in several parts, on return small crampons were welcome. In the hut pleasantly warm and friendly staff, as always. Visibility decreased every hour and in the end not even KSA... visible, but we used early morning for views and it didn't bother us.

In these times those who have hills right in front of their nose are quite privileged.
Yesterday afternoon I went up to Mrzlica to enjoy some winter we were short of this year. Parking in Zabukovci was full, but I met only a few hikers and some sledders. The perfect winter path is trodden, both from below Kamnik and direct over the meadow. Snow up to about 30cm, windblown on top.

I too am on Mrzlica every day. Since I'm a bit farther from the starting point, via webcam. They show quite interesting views.

On hribi.net they're asking for the highest peak of the municipalities where you live? So I wondered about the highest peak of Žalec municipality: Gozdnik or Mrzlica, what do you think? lp mp

I was looking for the official data myself...of course didn't find it.
But I think the highest peak of Žalec municipality is Gozdnik, already from the title of the Mrzlica hut keeper and Gozdnik bivouac.
But maybe wrong.
