Forenoon on Mrzlica, windy, approx 20 cm snow, locally 50+ drifted.

Drifts are almost always in the same places. velik nasmeh

I'll go check them out these days. Haven't done Martinov hike yet this year...

Quite a few cars at parking lot. The higher we climb, the higher snow cover = up to 20cm. In drifts much more. Snow wet, in forest slopes already muddy sliding. We try to make partial circular route. So we go a bit our own way. Windy on ridge.

Conditions on Mrzlica haven't changed much today either. From cca. 900 m up lots of snow, which on steep grass can slip too, especially if going a bit off-trail like I did today.

This is how it swept him on the steep grass.

Up to 50 cm snow. In drifts a bit more. Classic paths trampled. On wind-exposed spots, SV wind drifts tracks. Base icy and dangerous for slip, fall!

Mrzlica today. Those @geppo's untouched whites are no more. Pity.

After Saturday's St. Nicholas hike you really can't expect untouched snow velik nasmeh

Hut and tent outside packed full, down to the valley everyone goes on their own track anyway, not mentioning the drunks who were rolling in the snow zavijanje z očmi

Yesterday's visit to Mrzlica, very windy as probably everywhere also here, but good visibility because of that, in places towards the top the road icy, but managed without crampons. Quite a few visitors yesterday. nasmeh

Triglav can also be nicely seen in the distance

For someone going to Mrzlica for the first time, which trail (circular if possible) would you recommend? If start from the north side (Celje).

Hi otiv, you really always like to joke; I like it. Why to Mrzlica? See, the name tells that you have to go up there when it's cold and I managed that.... velik nasmeh

I wouldn't know how to advise you, because this time first from that side - Podmeje, always went up only from Hrastnik over Kal..., because I was home there once velik nasmeh

. Maybe geppo or garmont or pohodnica53 or savinjčan65 could suggest something good, because they go up there often?! mežikanje

@sasgitt.... if you type "mrzlica" in search and press "find", offers at least 6 or 7 starting points for hike to top. I mostly combine with Kamnik, Kal or Gozdnik, nice circular variants.

@..sasgittariusvz... my usual approach is from Podmeje, only once I came from your direction - specifically from Zabukovica, but missed the path a bit, still reached the goal; worth trying, very nice panoramic peak.... also this Saturday, 20.1...; lp
