The biggest crime is that mushrooms aren't cleaned on the spot... And I don't notice it only on the above pics, but elsewhere too... People don't realize at all that then there's less mushroom, or soon even nothing...

Tinky Fine for picking morels is 200€, so not really something to brag about. Morel is a protected mushroom.

I strictly follow the limit, 2 kilos per person. Yesterday I brought 8 kilos home, sadly night caught me. So I was short one person, cos there are five at home

I'm interested if anyone knows where mushroom picking zones on Pokljuka or in TNP are published, a hiker pointed it out when I was walking with an empty basket through the woods. Those two specimens were an exception - together 1.1kg for joy. Good harvests within normal limits

Branee thanks, if I picked mushrooms so superficially as I saw the website, there wouldn't be mushrooms either. Really was in forbidden area, LP - Jana

Pokljuka falls into the third area, so same restriction applies as any ordinary Dolenjska thicket. Jelovica is completely outside the park, so don't know why pasting paragraphs here that don't apply any differently than everywhere else.

I see this type of mushroom rarely. Photographed this morning in the forest on Šujica.

We didn't find edible mushrooms, but we enjoyed anyway.

I pick mushrooms on Pohorje, I know secret spots where no one controls you, the harvest is dreamy, and I never meet any competition. It's true that for Ljubljaners (and Gorenci, of course) Pokljuka is a much better alternative due to proximity, but it seems nonsensical to me that Styrians and Carinthians go to Dolenjska. To Dolenjska! There is almost no real wilderness anymore, and what there is is trampled by various hunters and self-proclaimed nature guardians. For me Pohorje is and will be the best mushroom area in Slovenia.

@tulipan No offense. Those old boletus with green spores should stay in the forest. At least the spores, since you surely didn't eat them, but discarded them. And probably not in the forest, which is a big shame.

Why big damage? I agree that mushrooms should be cleaned where we find them. But nowhere have I seen that they grow better there because of that. Is there any proof? I have found old mushrooms several times and left them alone, but never found any there again (3 or 4 such places). I think that forest interventions affect mushroom growth more, like tree felling, roads and such. But all this is just guessing! Regards
