Today accidentally found in the forest under a spruce 4 nice porcini, two were already yellow below and large, so I left them, didn't know there would be any porcini at all, given the past days/weeks when 25 cm snow fell. Haven't experienced anything like that before.

Porcini at this time of year are nothing special, I've got them much later too. There aren't frost mushrooms yet. (parasols, greens, silvers.....)

Parasols are already in breaded form, but real Viennese schnitzels .

Today picked two bags of parasols, but I don't eat them. They grow where farmers fertilized meadows.

Parasols along with porcini and Karželjni are one of the better delicacies. They grow everywhere on meadows and not on manure. Farmers pick them on meadows even with mopeds (Stari vrh). Some smaller hooded ones with whiter skin are similar and grow together with parasols. Caution, these are not edible!. Look a bit higher those "Viennese" and it will all be clear to you. My mouth is still watering for them.

Lots of them on the grass, but don't know if they are the real ones, should have a ring below, but these are smaller and quite similar to larger ones.

No, those aren't the real ones. Leave them there! Parasols have larger cap and characteristic brown scales on top of cap. By smell they also characteristically scent, smaller ones don't. Even in stem there's difference, where parasols are firmer and thicker.

They grow together, left the small ones, picked larger ones. Left one is surely real, right one brother picked.

If the ring moves they are edible parasols, tomorrow I'll go check the terrain again.

We distinguish the giant parasol and the maiden parasol.

Only a handful of foragers flawlessly know multiple mushroom species. A known mushroom can indeed change color shade depending on habitat, moisture, sun, soil composition. On the second picture above is the Bluish-Green Russula, edible but low-value mushroom Third on the picture is Common Sulphur Tuft, poisonous! On the seventh picture is Large Inkcap, tasty mushroom while caps are white. Need to check some hostas, it'll stay warm and wet.

I eat only young porcini in some stew with potatoes, otherwise no, no parasols, no other agarics, well in general I eat nothing else but home peasant dishes...those salamis, pates, sausages seem like they gathered snails in spring, ground them and made salami...yuck.

Ljubitelj gora, you don't know what you're missing by not eating parasols, chanterelles, whole range of boletes besides porcini, milkcaps......All these are excellent mushrooms with different tastes. As for salami and pates, I completely agree with you.

Nothing beats fried parasols, and a bit with tartar sauce. This year I fried porcini too on friend's tip. Divine!! Recommend
