With these wonderful Russulas, I too encountered world-class specimens this year - as it's called, in 90% there are boletus ... weren't there any?

A little afternoon rambling through beautiful Haloze or Haloze forests and the picking was quite good.

When looking at your mushrooming achievements I must kindly warn that the law allows carrying max 2 kg mushrooms at once from the forest(fine mild: 21 EUR). Protected mushrooms cannot be picked either. In private forests we can pick them unless the owner uses them for commercial activity.

What do you do with those older boletuses?

Dry them, and into mushroom soup...of course if they are without additives in the form of animal proteins

Mushrooms are slowly ending due to the cold. There are some autumn mushrooms, but the most desired boletuses only a few. Last week I walked the path from Jelendol, then turned into the solitary valley of Zalega stream, where I passed three hidden huts, there directed to the cart track and climbed to the top ridge to the reservoir fence, where the road leads to Pl.Pungrat. A little before this intersection I found two specimens of boletuses in the solitary forests. One 350g, the other 150g and both extremely healthy. Then I went through forests towards Kofce and then back by road to the starting point. Meanwhile I met a family of locals with an off-roader, who say there are no mushrooms, as it's already too cold up there, there were some only at the beginning of autumn this year, then no more. But for some tasty soups it will be enough for winter days

Maybe someone knows these mushrooms? They grow every year from November to December, the grass under them remains burned even the next year on the whole circle. D:FOTOGRAFIJE20101110IMG_7843.JPG D:FOTOGRAFIJE20101110IMG_7846.JPG D:FOTOGRAFIJE20101110IMG_7848.JPG Thanks for the answer.

@Milde: I quickly looked in the book. I think it's one of the milk caps. So leave it alone, as most are inedible and even poisonous. For more info use Google. Next time I suggest you describe the environment where you found the mushroom, for example on a clearing, near oak forest etc.

The mushrooms in the picture are very similar to mushrooms from the genus Melanoleuca. Similar are the grassland Melanoleuca (Melanoleuca graminicola) and early Melanoleuca (Melanoleuca cognata).

Not a milk cap, flesh is very firm compact, grows without visible quality deterioration for weeks. Taste non-bitter indistinct. Habitat meadow, 10 m away only hazel and hornbeams.
