And who picks older chanterelles too, when they're already yellow at the bottom, to dry and for soup. I do and in winter mushroom soup hits the spot.

Old mushrooms stay in the forest. For seed.

Grega, this is obviously a prank, even though it's not posted on April 1st... "Jurij Amanitić"???? The scientific name for fly agaric is Amanita muscaria

And also "Mushroom Secretariat ..." But it's still quite witty, whoever bothered with this.

I've read this a few days ago. Well written, witty, much of it holds true. I was already wondering why Grega posts nothing about mushrooms and steaks. It's true that in the last two seasons many don't stick to the legal quantity. On mushroom forums some admit it themselves. I don't see the problem so much in the quantity if there are plenty of mushrooms. What bothers me more is the quantity of mushroom pickers with cars who drive up to the mushrooms and leave plenty behind. With noise, dust, loud talking, littering, parking anywhere, they give gray hairs to landowners and forest animals. The "real" mushroom "patches" are still untouched and clean, mushrooms aplenty. I left at least 80% of the old ones behind, so no fear of eradicating them. And they grow again where they grew years ago. Where we thought there would be no more. If the climate is right, no obstacle to mushroom growth.
