Wow, this year they are giants. Last weekend my colleague sent me a pic of a firm spruce bolete, 827g heavy.

Hi, I'm quite new to this group and also to mushrooming as a hobby, so I'd like to ask for some advice where to find mushrooms in Slovenia.

Mainly in the forest, and on meadows next to the forest.

I really found some today in the forest (pine boletes, knight caps). But the season will end soon for this year.

Mrs. Nataša, chanterelles grow almost everywhere in Slovenia. Of course only a very good friend will show you the exact location.

Too warm and too dry for ink caps and greens...

herman8, the location is most interesting to find yourself. If someone shows it to you, it's not the same. I've completely changed locations where I pick mushrooms in the last 20 years. I was a few times at places like Rogla, Šumik, but that's not like mushrooming when people walk past you like in some shopping mall. The essence of mushrooming is also walking as much as possible, even if we find nothing or little.Usually I choose steep terrains where you also have to make an effort over various natural obstacles. Such mushrooming is very similar to walking off-trail paths, where it's also not the same if someone leads you on such a "path" or if you search for the path yourself.

A little rain is needed and there will be another basket...

serznoz, I think these mushrooms are real ink caps. Unfortunately I myself haven't met ink caps (even shaggy ones) this year, even though I like them... Of course mushrooms are easier to identify live than via picture. Mushroom greeting!

At sernoz's photo I'd first say it's some mottlegills, probably the ringed mottlegill (Panaeolus semiovatus), which characteristically grow on dung, so if there's a cow pat in the grass, then I'm right .
