Well, I think that's not mountain thrift, though I'm no botanist, I compared the flowers a bit ...
Could be alpine thrift - Armeria alpina.

I hope I'm not teaching wrong things; in my handbook I found this flower under that name, but maybe it has a relative, which is common with flowers. Sorry if I misled anyone.
I have "šnitlih" at home and use it daily in cooking.

Fixed the issue, remembered I also smelled a broken leaf of that flower and it smelled like thyme. Probably wasn't attentive enough, as they are very similar.
