Rok, please post your photo so I can avoid you if we meet. If a hen attack already triggers killer instincts in you, I dare not even imagine how you'd react when you spotted my ugly mug on some trail. OK, now seriously, whatever happened, happened, but still one gets a weird feeling why you even photographed your "trophy" or posted pictures on the net.

Sad, how you don't see that rok86 is a mountain lover and thus also an animal lover. He himself did the winter ascent on Kopinškova. Whoever is capable of such an ascent now cannot by definition be an animal torturer! Why don't you believe him that the attack was serious? To all, especially rok86, many more mountaineering ascents. Regards Robert

If Rok hadn't finished it with a stick, probably some hunter (with a fat wallet) on a tourist hunt with a rifle soon.

@maisterrobert - aren't you actually rok86 and now registered under another name? Need to check the machine IP.

prokofjev, this isn't a blog for judging people. Get a move on, go better on some tour into the mountains. At work, work and don't surf. Regards Robert

Like I'm no hunter either, here on the forum I see there luckily aren't any. But my colleague mag. ZOO tech is one and I told him this story yesterday and... interesting, this grouse "petelin" can play dead in defense so it's worth checking if this Rok really beat it because it doesn't go that quickly, other hunters were of that opinion. So I hope the thing had the whole thing a bit as a joke. Of course if Rok didn't bash with a stick for half an hour on it because just a few blows shouldn't have dried it up. Let someone go check.

Hehe, what crooks, this really looks like a forum for kids... not for some mountaineers.

Mavhar, as they say we're from all winds, but it's more interesting and at times also funny.

Quoting: "... interesting this grouse 'petelin' can play dead in defense so it's worth checking if this Rok really beat it..." ... he, he, he, the whole thing then looks like revenge of a sly Ruševec...

Hello, I'm pretty new here and interested when you can go to Ojstrica, I mean when snow melts there. I'd go from the hut at Razpotje over Škarje and return the same way the same day. Is the descent down the same way demanding? Thanks for answers.

That path isn't demanding. Some pegs and wire ropes a bit after Škarje!! Snow under Škarje lasts very long, at least don't go for two months. You can do this path in one day. Wait at least two more months, then start from Razpotje early morning and with normal fitness at the top and back in 8 hrs. Snow patch, which you'll probably still have to cross, carefully on trodden path. There's also one variant easier for first-timer from Planina Podvežak. You'll find that description too on Hribi. Hello, I'm from Celje and pretty new in this sport, interested when best to try to reach Ojstrica, drive from Celje to start is probably long, then ascent and descent same way, want to do in one day, please if anyone has a smart tip, thanks. And one more question: allowed to sleep in tent on the mountain?

Well edd, you bored? In March you asked similar, now May and no progress, some hiking map, guide to Kamnik-Savinja Alps - you'll find out all you want, plus route descriptions on hribi.net ... lots of new info. Regards!

Wait a little more, snow still up to 1600-1800 m altitude, Ojstrica over 2000 m, so June would be OK for ascent.

From Celje to Planina Podvežak is about 45 minutes and I think that's not such a long drive. If you're a beginner then it's better to wait another month cuz conditions will be much more pleasant then. And check the route description on hribi.net, you'll learn a lot of smart stuff.

I'll just answer you straight, edd. When the snow melts, go by the easiest path from Planina Ravne or Podvežak. Maybe suggest the second for the first time. By car from Luče to the starting point. The road is mostly gravel, somewhat potholed. Winter conditions probably still there. No camping in the hills really, sometimes they organize camping at Korošica, but that's more for schools (guides etc.). Welcome among mountain lovers. Respect and awe for them, let that be one of the guidelines for safe hiking.
