@jvali, the path @Domch mentions doesn't go to Korošica but branches right to Škarje earlier from path to Korošica. The first branches right a bit higher and is shorter but somewhat harder yet nicely secured with pegs and cables.

I agree with the previous two, no need to descend so low for the path over Škarje. Turn right next to the metal rod driven into the rock, the path is also exposed but protected with pitons and wire ropes. Attaching some pics from the tour at the beginning of the monthnasmeh

Hello, since I haven't been to Ojstrica yet I'm asking which path you'd choose for a loop up and of course descent?
Planina Podvežak - Ojstrica (over Mala Ojstrica)
Planina Podvežak - Ojstrica (past Kocbekov dom)

Up over Mala Ojstrica and down past Kocbekov dom seems better to me.

Today with my friend from Planina Podvežak first to Planina Molička peč, then to Kocbekov dom to Mala Ojstrica and on to Velika Ojstrica. From the summit to Kocbekov dom and back to Planina Podvežak. Nice weather, plenty of hikers, "štrudel" at Kocbekov dom for 3 euros definitely too small.

The junctions to Škarje are about 200m apart. The first higher one branches obliquely along the wall to Škarje. That path is time-consuming, secured mostly with pitons that are quite far apart, and the cables are not in great condition where they exist. The lower path branches a bit lower along that one, then you scramble over scree and rocks and you're quickly at Škarje. From that junction to Korošica it's another good half hour of descent. But if you're heading to Škarje, you have to return to the mentioned junction the same way back. Kopinškova pot is for me personally the nicest path by far around.nasmeh

This Saturday the decision fell: plan B, Ojstrica via Kopinškova instead of Koroška Rinka. The path is very nice, especially from the climbing part onward it is picturesque, varied, open, airy - some say. That chimney from afar looks like mission impossible. But when climbing and walking, there is always a path and a spot for foot, hand ... and everything works out.
Thanks to pohodnik38 and domch for the pointer over Škarje. Many hikers returned via that path. It was a really nice day. People chatty, views idyllic. The tour lasts as written. Eight hours round trip.

Yesterday I was up there from Planina Podvežak and there was no snow anywhere on the trail, so just happily on the way

Planina Podvežak-Mala Ojstrica-Ojstrica-Korošica
25th of this month I set out on this trail. Fog accompanied me all the time, only rare moments were sunny and I caught some views anyway. The trail itself is very nice and not too strenuous. On the trail I met only one hiker so I recommend it to people who like peace and quiet. At the top Ojstrica showed itself in all its splendor. On the way to Korošica fog accompanied me and I had to try to find some faded markers. So MARKERS to work, as there are many visitors here in summer. At Korošica as always friendly caretaker and pleasant chat. On the way back I detoured to Molička planina.
What can I say, nice and somewhat longer trip in this part of our KS mountains. On Planina Podvežak a large herd of cattle is grazing, and on the way to Podvežak quite a few mushroom pickers' cars are parked.

Today on Ojstrica. Started from Podveža via MP and Kocbekova via Mala Ojstrica to Ojstrica. Descended via Korošica and Okrok Lastovca to hunting hut and road to parking. Above 2200m some snow already, on top quite frozen, descent was icy so had to bypass a few times as trail was icy.

Yesterday on Ojstrica via škarje, huge amount of snow in the forest, lots of sinking, but we made a track, so go for it if anyone's interested.
