Today our rescue angels had work again in the north face of Ojstrica...
Helicopter hopefully picked up the casualties just before the strong thunderstorm hit the area...
Bravo and full respect to you!

So the thunderstorm was not to blame for the rescue?

@Okmodko: what happened and what caused it I don't know... hope nobody was hurt...

Lots of us were around the hills when the thunder started and it began raining...

The helicopter landed a bit below Ojstrica (i.e. below Rjavški vrh) just before the storm, so the storm couldn't have been the reason for the rescue ... if it was a rescue at all, that I don't know.

And also reply to one just deleted comment: there was no risk to life ... You wrote something like that, didn't you jezik

Today I went via the Kopinski route to Ojstrica. The path is normally passable! Lp

I also went to Ojstrica yesterday 3.8. via Kopinškova path. Super path, expected it to be harder but personally it didn't seem so to me. Fixed protections are in the right places to make it easier to get through harder sections. Nice views, lots of flowers along the path, the sun was burning 100 an hourvelik nasmeh The snow patch a bit below the summit no longer poses an obstacle on the path but caution is still needed there over that scree. I was alone on the path the whole time. On top there were quite a few people but not too crowded as I expected it was Saturday. Descended via Škarje and also jumped to Rjavčki vrh and via Klemenče jama back to the starting point in the valley. Used up everything I had with me including 4 sandwiches, 2 energy bars, 2 radlers, 2 l water, 2 apples, 2 pears...and more if there wasvelik nasmeh. Nice hike from now on I go to Ojstrica only via Kopinškova. Video of the whole path follows.

Bravo and congrats, Tone. Can't wait for your video that really shows the difficulty of the path. I also plan to tackle Ojstrica via Kopinškova, and I'm really curious what the exposure looks like filmed from the helmet. You nicely filmed Mrzla gora and Dolgi hrbet. Your videos are great info and based on that you can exactly see what the path is like. LPmežikanje

Path filmed as through hiker's eyes... if it helps those deciding for ascent on this path. I can confirm previous comment: the path is well protected with cables-pegs where they should be so via ferrata set is useful for those who need it, only thing I'd emphasize is extra caution not superfluous on that part where there is snow it's the scree which is a bit "scary" and you cross it in 3-4 steps.

Tone, your contributions are really always a pleasure to read and watch. You help many with that, as it is shown realistically in real life. Safe steps and LPnasmeh

Super video spiced with good mood while climbing. It's scary to see also that unprotected ridge before entering the narrow chimney and, as you mentioned, that steep scree with snow patch above. Did you have issues with backpack in the chimney, apparently it's very narrow there?mežikanje It's really a very nice path so time to go. LP

The passage along the ridge to the holds leading into the chimney isn't that bad...........in the chimney it's fine if you go sideways - along the outer edge.....you just have to pull yourself up a bit with your hands, because it's narrow and awkward passage. No more snow on the scree field so no problem. Trip is OK.nasmeh

I also went yesterday via Kopinškova to Ojstrica - hurried a bit because of impending storms - superb trip without scorching sun, as it was mostly hidden behind clouds - thunder and downpour caught me just right - at the car in Logarska Dolina (around 4 pm). Returned via Škarje.

...let me add that what pleasantly surprised me most was that Ojstrica was deserted yesterday....on the summit I was alone 3/4 hour, only then a younger couple came over Škarje...on the way down met only three very late hikers (hope all was ok with them....)

@Shati:
As far as I can see on the 11th picture, has the snow patch under the summit already receded from the path?

From Logar Valley, where we overnighted, over Škarje to Ojstrica. Interesting and partly shady path suitable for hot days, which at the top offers really super views of KSA giants and Logar Valley.

Yesterday we visited Ojstrica via Kopinškova path. We started at the Mountaineers' Hut and ascended through the forest towards the Ojstrica summit, hidden behind the mighty north wall high above us. To the saddle overlooking Robanov kot it drags, as the altitude already nears 1000m dangerously. Shortly after the saddle, the first pegs and cables are just for warm-up. The path continues on the south side, where the sun shows its power mercilessly draining fluids, which we replenish from backpacks more often. Then easier and harder sections lead to the most interesting part, needing some gymnastics through a narrow passage but nothing scary. Crossing the north side of the wall was welcome as shade cooled overheated bodies. The youngest enjoyed the cables especially.
Very nice medium-difficult path comparable to Hanzova on Mala Mojstrovka but much longer, less secured but sufficient.
Descent via Škarje drags, so the tour is quite long overall but worthwhile.

On 16.08. I conquered Ojstrica via Kopinškova in gorgeous weather. The path thrilled me; I have to admit I haven't walked a nicer one yet. As panda said, exposure is not exaggerated anywhere. The tour is fitness demanding, especially be careful on loose scree on the ground. Otherwise, the path follows nice natural passages, is well marked and secured. It offers beautiful views throughout. Difficulty is medium. The mentioned ridge is wide enough and secured at the key part; the chimney needs some arm strength. Snow patch is higher above the path. From the summit down to Korošica to Kocbekov dom, then lower path to Škarje. I recommend that as the upper one is very time-consuming and continuously slightly exposed and secured with pegs. From Škarje down to the meadow, then to Rjavčki vrh and back to the valley. Helmet recommended for the tour, self-belay as needed.

Domch: how much shorter is that lower path to Škarje you mentioned? We were on Ojstrica two years ago via Mala Ojstrica to summit then back via Korošica. Now Kopinškova tempts us. So from summit to Korošica then choose other path back to start? Thanks for clarification. val.
