Mukica, sadly, Ojstrica is not visible on your photos; it lies to the right of Planjava, which sticks out on the right side of the 1st pic.

Yes, I noticed, added one from yesterday with mist just over Ojstrica, one from before, though now more snow is visible since it has snowed since thenmežikanje

As per plan: on Friday we started at 23:30 from Trieste, around 2 a.m. we arrived at Planina Podvežak. We started hiking around 4:30 when dawn began. Firm snow right after the shepherd hut. Though it was quite hot, the snow was not sinking. At the saddle we turned right to the summit via the Mala Ojstrica path. There is still quite a lot of snow and occasionally it sinks a lot. Nothing was trodden. Crampons are out of the question, a small ice axe would not be amiss. Summit reached at 8:00. Calm, sun and no cloud, total silence, simply fantastic! Descent after an hour's sleep to home in Korošica via pathless "straight down". After a few meters of quite adrenaline-packed climbing we reach a very steep snowfield. "Skiing" on it is quite fun, but I would advise against this variant for inexperienced hikers. On the way back we were caught by rain and hail too (already at 10:30). Definitely a unique day and a beautiful peak.

Hi,
if anyone is going hiking this weekend to Ojstrica, I recommend myself for a description of path conditions (mainly snow). Planning to go up from Podvežak over Mala Ojstrica, down the path to Kocbek hut on Korošica. Already possible to hike this path without ice axe and crampons?

best regards

Yesterday up there, Pl. Podvežak - m. Ojstrica - Korošica. Path almost fully dry, except few patches not annoying. No ice axe needed. Descent to Korošica cross snow twice but doesn't sink.

If you three young lads who stole two pairs of hiking poles from us today on the trail to Ojstrica are reading this, I tell you everything will come back to you, so watch out on your further mountain visits. I memorized your faces and if we meet, you won't get away next time.

To the others, watch your gear, as apparently such lowlifes are also lurking in the mountains, who nobody taught basic life manners.

Becar, I passed those poles myself and thought someone forgot them. Then it dawned on me that someone left them there and didn't want to carry them to the top intending to pick them up on the way back... but the three musketeers were faster. Well, musketeers, be honest and return the poles to the guy. Unfortunately, "thievery" has moved to the mountains too...

Shame that the general lowland problems have moved to the spotless HIGH MOUNTAINS for us...zmeden

Probably those young lads took the poles by mistake, thinking someone left them there because they don't need them anymore. Did you maybe have new, better poles?

I, when I don't need them or can't use them, always clip them to the backpack, because I know they steal everywhere like magpies...

Today my colleague and I did the tour: Podvežak - Vodotočnik - Korošica - Ojstrica - Mala Ojstrica - Molička chapel - Veliki vrh - Velika Zelenica - Podvežak. Very nice circular path, especially the sections with fewer people were to our liking. We also saw those unfortunate hiking poles (just before the view into Logarska opens) and 3 "musketeers" who initially planned to descend via Kopinškova...

Otherwise we started hiking at 5:00, returned just before the heavy thunderstorm (16:00). There are still some snow patches on the entire route, but most are not dangerous. Need to watch only on the ascent Kocbekova koča - Ojstrica, where there is and will be for a while a steep snowfield.

hm... yeah, Becar, did you check at the hut on Korošica if maybe they left them there, in case someone looks for them? In short... poles into backpack, backpack on back and trust no one... seems they steal everywhere...

I checked with the hut keeper, no sign of the poles. Clearly they took them on purpose zavijanje z očmi Yesterday I left the poles by the trail for the first time (and last), thought half an hour they won't bother anyone. Both pairs were stacked and neatly placed in one corner.

@Ronaldinho82 and @ljubitelj gora: You can't take poles that aren't yours by mistake. Who would leave poles on the trail because they don't need them anymore. They were used, not even that expensive, but still... What isn't yours, leave it alone. If you take it, leave it in some hut or post here on hribi.net...

Becar: well as it seems we two also met you then on the top or just below it. I remember when we descended that we saw the poles (we understand why the poles were lying there). We did meet those three guys near Skarjev rob and to be honest, I don't remember anyone having poles. (not 100%) ..possible that some other fool is in play.. anyway the thief should get one pole broken on his ass.

We'll survive, I won't go bankrupt because of those poles, nor will the thief get rich. More than material loss, human depravity saddens me, which has gone where it's least needed. As I mentioned, I believe that all good and bad comes back to you eventually.

Such people better wander elsewhere, we don't need or want them in the mountains!

Hi,

does anyone know if Kopinškova path to Ojstrica is snow-free? Thanks for reply.

Sano, last weekend friend was on this path and there was still at least one bigger snow patch to cross, where ice axe comes in handy.
