Here are a couple of pics from yesterday... near Kocbek shelter on Molička planina lots of snow (it's there all the way to Korošica), we didn't go to Mala Ojstrica "direct path" (heard it's quite impassable and steep). From Mala Ojstrica to the Ojstrica summit no need to cross snowfields!!

On Saturday early in the morning I was in Robanov kot. I'm attaching a picture too. In my opinion there's still plenty of snow on the path. Your opinion? Has anyone been?

Has anyone been up Kopinškova?
Is there still any snow?

From Robanov kot to Korošica the path is snow-free. Towards the summit to the scrub only two small patches. I went this path on 21.6. continued to Mala Ojstrica and to the top. Most snow was on descent to Kocbekov dom. Winter gear in my opinion not needed.

The traverse will still have snow for a long time, there in the morning only a little sun shines, which isn't yet so strong in the forenoon.

So on Kopinškova still need ice axe and crampons for that traverse? Or need them elsewhere on path too?

Has anyone hiked from Ojstrica to Planjava - traverse?
Are there still lots of snow patches or can it be done without ice axe? Over the weekend I plan this path, temperatures will be higher.

thanks

Dejan, from my experiences (last year at this time I wanted to cross this path) it's still too dangerous without winter gear. This year especially, as there was abundant winter in the mountains.

OK. I'll take the ice axe anyway; although I'd rather someone tell him when they hiked there in recent weeks.

Call the Kamniška hut at Kamniško sedlo. The warden told me precisely last year about conditions on surrounding peaks and paths.

Last Saturday, 21.6., from the Silver Saddle one could see large snow patches towards the Planjava peak, also towards Ojstrica.

Ice axe, crampons together weigh not even 1.5 kg; for safety you need to provide them or turn back as the mountain always waits.

LG you didn't say anything new, regarding the hut no problem to call but they are unreachable, today already the whole day.

Last year there was the same amount of snow as this year; the difference is only that there was more good weather and the snow patches melted earlier this year but.... last year there was still on Aug 3 on this path on that traverse below summit a small snow patch( see from 13.15 onwards ) and even on bare ground it is very exposed there. So it doesn't even cross my mind to cross there without winter gear. My opinion nasmeh
