On Friday, 8.7.2016 we wanted to repeat the ascent to Ojstrica from Podvežak via Mala Ojstrica, but there was no sign anywhere warning about the junction. So we continued to the hut at Korošica, we had enough time, and then the ascent to the top. At the hut we learned that last Saturday they were setting new markers and since then several hikers said the sign for M.Ojstrica is missing. It was still nice, just have to script your day and feelings, the weather was excellent for hiking, views sometimes to peaks and valley, other times complete fog rushing all day from Kamniška Bistrica.
the peaks were hiding and revealing themselves, the fog was playing its game...1
I really love our mountains2
you saw the summit, but a few minutes later it hid again3

At the top of the meadow, before descending towards the hut, path goes right. If you were a bit attentive, you would spot it. No offense.

Maybe someone knows how the snow patch under Kopinškova peak is?

Thanks.

mailman: it's not about not noticing something. As a hiker I look around quite a bit, the charm of hikes is in views. Path is there, but no sign that belongs there (and was there for years) indicating where path leads, after all it's a marked trail not pathless terrain.

yesterday via Kopinškova, back over Škarje. Small snowfield under Kopinškova summit remains, snow soft but doesn't sink deep. Even easier to bypass snowfield under the tongue on scree. Gentle snowfield also across Škarje, fully worry-free to cross.

Has anyone gone to Ojstrica in the last week? Wondering if there's still any snow and if I need crampons, since I have knee problems?

Paths are four marked or 5 so you have to say which one you'll choose?

All dry, except Kopinškova supposedly still has little snowfield, no trouble.

good luck

Tomorrow planning from planina Podvezak to Ojstrica. Is this path all in sun or at least part in shade? Supposedly hot..

DarkoZ, mentioned path is southern approach to Ojstrica and not much shade. Early start is one of the helps against heatwave.

Just as otiv suggested to you. At the latest at 7 at the starting point.

Do you think the weather will hold tomorrow if I start the ascent at 8 via kopinškovi and descend cez skarje? My plan is to be back at 18 at dom planincev?

Possible that you get bad luck, but good chance a thunderstorm catches you (per forecast). If not earlier, personally wouldn't risk.

But earlier, at 10h you won't need it and even then every 5min you'll be sittingmežikanje

Good luck

Is it possible to climb directly to Mala Ojstrica from the east from the direction of Stara Kočbekova Koča and the Church of Cyril and Methodius without major problems? Thanks

Yes. The path is barely marked with red spray. But it's a bit harder than the one from Sedelce or from Dom na Korošici.

One more question: The path from Brunašnica/planina Vodole to e.g. Inkretovo razpotje seems shorter and better shaded than from Ravno polje/Podvežak to Inkretovo razpotje..
Why is Podvežak used more often? (and it says on Hribi that it's time-wise shorter than Vodole)

Thanks. I read that. It just interests me how it's longer - when (per GPS) it's meter-wise shorter?
No matter, I'm going to Podvežak, probably it's a nicer path so time-wise shorter.

Is anyone informed about the damaged steel cable on the Robanov kot - Ojstrica path (after about 5 km)? Has anyone gone on this path recently?
