We drove to Planina Podvezak where we parked. Past the mountain hut a few raindrops accompanied us, ridiculously it was closing and opening... forecast was OK, weather didn't agree much. So we kept going towards Korosica. Path is very nice and not too steep, but need to be careful with orientation, full of variants.

So we reached Sedelca and continued to Mala Ojstrica. Moment for Snickers and two photos. Weather still weird, but felt like clearing as fast as we hike. From Mala Ojstrica to the big one it looked like terrible fog.

There nice path turns more demanding and at places swap poles for hands - nothing scary, caution recommended anyway. Towards top saw some wind sculptures from snow and ice, then soon at top. Views not great, but few minutes sun so we enjoyed a bit.

Descended towards Korosica and Kocbekov dom (Planjava direction). Terrain bit more broken so put on helmets to avoid surprises. From Korosica to car chose loop past nice pools. Orientation demanding first time. By "stream" stay right side descend. Sometimes mark, see cairns. To pools reach bigger meadow. Then left paths... otherwise end up Velika Planina? Had map on phone, corrected twice. At wall put on helmets again. From far looks exposed, closer better. Caution not extra.

No winter gear needed.

Before Vodotočnik they turned right towards Podvolovjek. The meadow you mention is called Stare stale, the exposed path crosses the western slopes under Lastovec and joins before the hunting hut at Brežiče. nasmeh

Nice! If it was your first time, it's a shame you didn't go to Vodotočnik too. You'll have motivation to come again.mežikanje

Surely we'll come again sometime, the paths are really nice and not too steep so nice ascent. Quite a few walking variants. Thanks for tips and descriptions.

Hi, maybe someone knows current conditions? What's the snow situation? Thanks nasmeh

On Kopinškova gear is needed, over Škarje recommended, other paths in normal conditions no "snow" problems.

If anyone goes via Kopinškova please for detailed information and some picture regarding snowfields. I had planned a guided tour and I'm interested in the conditions. Thanks and best regards

Hi,
Today I went with my wife up Kopinškova to the upper snowfield (northern traverse below the summit at ca. 2200 m), where I, due to the relative difficulty of the traverse, time pressure and unclear continuation, decided to turn back. It's passable, but I advise the less experienced against it; definitely recommend ice axe and crampons (snow is soft and steps can be made) and sufficient time reserve!
Still, it was a good trip in nice weather while enjoying the view from Jama nasmeh
Best, David, Mojca

Correct decision and all congrats for it. Up there without winter gear you've got nothing to "fiddle" with.
Safe travels

On the "standard" tour - up Kopinškova, down via Škarje - (at least) ice axe is useful elsewhere too.

I confirm the snowfield is still there, wide and steep and you gotta be really brave to push through without winter gear... Yesterday quite a few turned back too.

Hi Zoran, hi Janez! nasmeh
Zoran, regarding experience just ask Mojca, I think she'll have something to say mežikanje
Janez, I drive past you and feel guilty because we never have time to stop mrk pogled Otherwise we're quite active, as much time as we have, usually around here Mozirska or to Čreta, for Podvežak, Raduha etc. need to plan better re kids jezik
Specifically this trip yeah, you know I hesitated because of Mojca, she was already pretty tough up there velik nasmeh
Probably would've made it (btw I went on "recon" much lower than those 4 in next photos tried), but why stress her and be on pins and needles, she wouldn't get much out of it, summit will wait.
Where did you watch from, Zabrložnica?
Anyway safe steps to both (and all other hikers of course) and see you soon! mežikanje
