Where would SVK be needed on Kopinškova? There isn't much cable. Maybe 2 m before the north crossing. The part over Škarje across rocks with pegs is equally difficult.

SVK for the less experienced is definitely not superfluous!

Just today went up Kopinškova and down Škarje. Had SVK but didn't use it. "Toughest" spots for me ca 5m ridge path a bit after "ladder" and exposed climb along cable when path turns to Logarska side. There focused on path under feet and didn't look into depth much.. :-)

On Kopinškova need to watch not to trigger stones because they fly far into depth. Descent Škarje not so interesting but met chamois a few meters away.. :-)

At the beginning of the week, still before the deterioration, we visited Ojstrica. We started in Logarska dolina, in »foreign lands«. We climbed to the top via Kopinškova, descended via Škarje. It was a nice and long loop before autumn arrived.
Kopinškova didn't seem too hard to me. I was surprised by a lot of steep and strenuous walking; it only becomes more high-alpine in the last part, when it goes high above Logarska dolina.

Ojstrica is quite “high-alpine”. It has the nicest wall far and wide. It's not comparable to “foreign lands“ only by height. nasmeh

Hi everyone,
This is a bit off-topic;
if anyone happened to be at the top of Ojstrica between 8.10 and 9.10.2020 and found some forgotten hiking poles with special extended handles, I'd be glad if you could “miss” them, because they're very handy for my wife due to wrist issues (with sclerosis problems mežikanje )... Reachable at 040509575.
Thanks a lot!

I was up on 9.10. via Kopinškova. Didn't see any poles at the top, but there were some (classic full black ones) poles before Lojtrca, i.e., where the slightly more vertical part of the path to Ojstrica starts.

I saw them too yesterday (10.10.) at that spot. Today they're probably already under snow. mrk pogled

True, it doesn't fit under conditions, but anyway.
On Ojstrica, Kocbek with the group and guides. What times!

Interesting that skiers also started with one pole.
Trentarski Lojz still swears by one pole.

lijaneja,
and it's true. Can't remember seeing Podskalar (Lojz) without a pole, even around his house he walked with it when I was there. Pole and rubber boots, even where I barely managed in mountain boots and with hands nasmeh

They knew how to skillfully use a spiked pole for overcoming slopes: shepherds or original inhabitants of the Canary Islands...

I have a good example at home, but I have never used it; it's time to test it. The top has a chamois horn, the bottom a forged spike. It's about 170 cm long. Thanks for the video, opazovalec! Excellent!

Ojstrica via Mala Ojstrica 14.6.2021, start from Planina Ravne and continued towards Korošica. Still lots of snow for this time of year. To Korošica there are 1000 variants of paths that usually lead through the most impassable parts; footprints in snow disappear fast due to heat, so you need to really know the path well not to wander around for hours. Before Korošica you have to cross a steep snowfield where it's not cool if you slip. Then towards Mala Ojstrica. Path mostly dry, lower some easier snowfields, higher just below summit of Mala Ojstrica and higher to Ojstrica summit dangerous steep snowfields; if you fall there you'll slide down to Korošica. Didn't use crampons because good steps could be made, ice axe was necessary though, even if some talents go up without anything. Descent the same way.
Still a lot of snow on dleskovši.1
A slightly more demanding section before Korošica.2

Today from Logarska ascent via Kopinškova to Ojstrica and descent via Škarje.

Up to the last bend I was debating whether to go, then decided to try. Expected winter conditions but the crossing was a bit devilish today. The whole Kopinškova in these conditions is one continuous crossing of snow tongues and gullies, of course at the end crossing above the north face.

Well, jumping ahead a bit. To the junction Kopinškova/Škarje the path is quite nice, some tongues left, but it's clear that the path will need a lot of fixing when the snow fully melts. Towards Škrbina also nice walking, snow was soft and no winter gear needed. On Kopinškova you have to choose between traverses or go around snow slopes. Before the main secured section I used crampons and ice axe, then off again until the next snow obstacle and repeat: traverse or detour. But that was nothing compared to the crossing above the wall. Short summary: kick steps into snow up to knees, step over with each foot and repeat. If anyone is going, recommend gloves despite warm weather. When I reached the bend, I felt great relief to be out. From car to summit just over 6 hours,

Descended via Škarje then continued from saddle below Rjavički. Landslide from Lučka baba no obstacle.

Nice, pic 22 why not very friendly?
I'd say it was super to cross just there, maybe even direct into the left gully to the summit with some scrambling in between.
Nice tour, good luck
