Hello!
How is it with the hut at Okrešelj in winter time?
Is it open during the week or only on weekends or closed all the time?
I plan two-day ascents and it would be nice to sleep somewhere

I thought that yesterday's snow conditions forecast on Ars was a bit strange.
Conditions at Okrešelj can't differ much from those in the neighboring Matkov kot, where they were still extremely dangerous on Saturday!

Hello!
How far is the road cleared towards the interior of Logarska? Is it from the end of that macadam parking or only to that inn where you turn left.

The road is plowed to the junction where you turn to that inn.

Yesterday at Okrešelj. Road is drivable to Planšarija Logarski kot. Path to Okrešelj is well trodden, snow on top ca. 40 cm, hut was closed.

Hello,
it's been tempting me for some time, something poking inside me, wake up from winter sleep, come on...
And it happened. On Saturday 25.2.2017 I went to visit Okrešelj again, no longer counting how many times, but I think it's my favorite again.
Conditions on the path, fresh snow, just right cold and clear sky.
Won't describe feelings, just say I'll return for sure.

I advise against SHEPHERD'S PATH. At the hut they told me it's all ok now, but I don't fully agree. At the place of the landslide, the path is still "real challenge", not at all suitable for crowds of hikers...

Shepherd's path renovated this year and fully nicely passable. Not without reason marked as difficult path on maps, so warning to avoid the path is out of place.

Well, some confusion certainly comes from the fact that on this portal (unlike maps) the ordinary (marked) path to Okrešelj is also marked as difficult. So maybe someone takes on the Shepherd's too, thinking it's the same level. Therefore navdušena's warning is not entirely off - she wrote that Shepherd's is not suitable for mass hikers, surely meaning Sunday excursionists to Okrešelj. It would be good to finally correct the difficulty label on this page for the marked path, which certainly isn't difficult.

Today at Okrešelj. Still plenty of snow. Conditions still wintry despite high temperatures. Quite a few visitors today.

On Sunday I ascended from the very distant Logar Valley for me to Okrešelj. Up via Pastirska Valley, down via the usual route. As usual on nice weekends, a crowd of people was milling up there.
