djimuzl, I agree with what you said about pyromaniacs, sadly, they rarely catch any. Clients are usually untraceable, ... and don't answer for anything.
Tadej, please moderate if it goes too far.

Also in the PZS membership fee for 2020, 1€ is planned for renovating Dom na Korošici.
And increase of the general membership fee too...jezen

In the last three years PD Celje invested a hundred thousand euros in the hut and made a new classroom for lectures...
I hope there's something for insurance in those hundred thousand euros. If not, that's top foolishness...

If we were in Austria, a new modern hut would already stand on Korošica.

@bbugari: I hope it will be sooner than you wrote, but even if they build de luxe and whatever, just let them do something!

In times of Yugoslavia, when "everything was so bad", they built schools, hospitals, roads, apartments, yes and many mountain huts.

Now, when "everything is so nice", the state cannot build one hut or provide treatment for a terminally ill child. With all voluntary contributions, they burden already poor people, then that money often disappears somewhere. Good-hearted people collect contributions and thus enable just enough theft at the state level!

Let someone responsible explain how the hut was insured, and if not, why not.

I don't know, to me it seems that more taxpayers benefit from mountain huts than from e.g. the second track. The competent minister could comment and encourage building. This is a nice opportunity for two modern, self-sufficient, ecological mountain huts.
Like all Savinjci, I'm stingy too, but for Okrešelj and Korošica I'm ready to contribute money and work right away. But only when it is known what and when.

If in huts you got a receipt for paying services, maybe I'd believe. So far in Slovenian huts I've got a receipt only 2x.

No, this with receipts won't hold. I've gotten it always and everywhere. And tax certified, be it Staničev dom, Kredarica, Planika, Dom na Peči.... in short everywhere. Even in Zavetišče pod Špičko she wrote it from the bound receipt book. In short, always and everywhere as it should be, in accordance with legislation. In the valley it's still sadly so that they charge you without receipt in many places. We all lose. That's the other side of our Slovenian mentality. Few realize what all is funded from taxes, but not all we know only to spit how the state gives nothing, and wishes are always higher than reality.

I have exactly the opposite experiences: in the valley I almost always get it while in the huts the situation has indeed improved a lot but say one fifth of the caretakers still act a bit dumb.

Dark clouds have gathered over Celje Mountaineering Club and the entire Slovenian mountaineering scene right now. President of Celje MC Franc Povše, visibly shocked, gave a statement for TV. But in a year or two the disaster will be forgotten and we'll rejoice in two new modern huts - on Korošica and Okrešelj. At least by the presentation of drafts of the Korošica hut it will be a modern facility for visitors and users. nasmeh

Fikret, and how much money have they collected for the hut on Konjščica, how much will the corrupt state add? How much does the greedy priest think to collect?

"Dark clouds" over Slovenia because of two buildings, come on... mrk pogled
Fifty years ago everything was built much easier and faster.
But "in a year or two" we'll rejoice only over new utopian projects instead of simple (insured) mountain stations.
The problem is not the fire, there were some in the past too, but in the complete ineffectiveness of public systems (from municipality to state), PDs, legislation and people's relation to public solidarity. Otherwise these two huts would really be done in a year or two.

Dark clouds have long been over Slovenia in mountain huts, not because of two burned huts but because of poor conditions in the huts themselves. Quite a few should have been closed long ago.

When I read the above comments, I get the feeling that everything happening in our Slovenia is wrong. Years ago everything was supposed to be different!? Of course, we were younger and more optimistic. Today's young people have no idea what it was like back then.mežikanje

Both burned huts remain in my good and bad memories.
At Korošica (in the hut) I overnighted only 2x. Once in the hallway, once like a sardine in a can. If you overnighted outside due to climbing in Vežica or Dedec, you sometimes barely got a few drops of water to refresh a bit. So bad memories of the hut.
The hut at Okrešelj was always my dear stop before climbing in surrounding walls. Always friendly keepers, common dormitory spacious and never fully occupied. Beer after climbing and good company, sometimes merry evenings with singing, we even chopped wood sometimes. Those were still times when we didn't go to mountains just for one day.
Although I haven't visited it lately, nor other huts, I'm sad for it.
It nicely complemented Okrešelj cirque. I hope they build a new one soon and let it be as similar as possible to the old one. It won't bother me if another euro from membership goes for it.
