Peaks above Soriška planina

From Soriška planina first along the forest road to Baško sedlo. The road is not drivable, there is a forest cableway on the road.
At Baško sedlo I viewed again after a long time the cavern built into live rock (from Rapallo border time). I climbed towards Šance, where the hunter's hut is.
Back to the saddle, then to Šavnik, Možic, Slatnik and Lajnar.
In the shade on the path there is compressed snow, but it went without problems.
Down along the ski slope.

yes, always nice, but most beautiful in winter time. That's what I realized yesterday, although it was still Siberian at the parking lot, so we put on everything we had.
To the saddle between Lajnar and Slatnik in fog, already a bit higher we stepped into a winter fairy tale, which accompanied us all the way until we descended to the forest path below the hut, and completed the beautiful trip along it.
We walked alone in this beautiful world for quite a long time, met only a couple of visitors on the whole tour. Nothing disturbed the admiration of the snow-covered peaks, as the foggy sea stayed below, only occasionally did a small patch break loose for a moment and obscure the endless view of the world of our highest mountains. Peak above Škrbina, Krn, Čelo, Prestreljenik and Debeli vrh are just part of that panorama where I most like to turn my eyes.

But yesterday we saw quite a few snowshoe tracks and that seemed like a good idea for one of the future visits. And the option to extend the path to peaks Čevžl, Kozji hrbet, saddle at Vratcih, is not negligible either. Quite the opposite, great encouragement nasmeh

Today the ski season opened at Soriška, preparations were already underway yesterday.

. boštjanko, thanks for the praise. When nature is wonderful, as it was on Thursday, it's not hard to take nice pictures. I took about 250 shots, as almost every view seemed suitable for storing in memory smile

lubadar, that Marija with the snow frame really appealed to me, in such a beautiful blue dress. Felt like seeing her for the first time.

All these years I always stopped by it, sometimes wondered what was going through soldiers' heads as they passed by, now it seems to me they took away its patina with the renovation. That's my opinion, it needed renovation maybe a bit less kitschy

Monday, 18.1.2021

Burning last year's vacation and overtime. And we went one round. Start at Sorica, along the first lift to the top then branch right and nicely along the ski slope higher towards Kor. Along Rapallo border circular to Mozic where you could see... everything nasmeh

Ski slope goes further / back towards Kor but before the hut turns towards Slatnik and one Slatnik. There we switched from touring to skiing, equipped properly and skied to the saddle, then along the ski area back to the car. Short and sweet. Then it slowly started closing.

It's good to know what is happening on the slope down which you will descend later.

But they didn't start at Sorica, rather at Soriška. No offense, it's a common mistake.

Wonderful Soriška planina, especially in winter time. Weather perfect, no wind, sun, almost too warm,... and great views.
We circled the peaks around the planina from Možic to Dravh. Snow won't run out for a long time.

Today nice circular path over peaks above Soriška planina. Možic-Šavnik-Slatnik-Lajnar-Dravh. Nice path, a bit windy, nice views. Path without special features.
