Hello, I'd like to combine Veška kopa, Bistriška špica, Križnik, Končnikov vrh, Velika glava, Ranto and Peca into one loop. Has anyone done it, what's the best starting point? Which side first up? Thanks nasmeh

DVas, something similar, though not a loop, I described in the blog http://gorskimoz.si/2017/09/30/pet-vrhov-meglene-pece/. Otherwise I hiked all those peaks from the lower gondola station in Austria then to Veška planina, Veška kopa and all ridge peaks to Kordeževa glava. We descended to Dom na Peci and went towards Karavle, then kept left to Rišperg and back to lower gondola station.

From Globasnica to Veška kopa then across Peca down to Mežica. For such a path it's worth dressing for mountains and taking backpack.

Pristava - Peca

This year I went for the first time on this path to Peca, it is one of the first paths from the valley to Peca. The path has been neglected over the years, as the road offered shorter access. For me starting from the valley is a special pleasure that fully satisfies me. During the ascent, I still remove some obstacles.

From Veška kope back to Rudnik Topla which path recommended? On map there are several.

Descend to Planina Luža and lower path to Topla or back to Končnikov vrh and through Kumrov žleb to Topla or something third?

Paths passable? Thanks.

Regarding the previous post... I hiked from Rudnik Topla to Peca and all the way to Veška kope. Descent to Planina Luža and continued left on that pink-marked path to Topla. Paths passable. Only on descent from Veška kope to Planina Luža you hit a ravine where the path gets slightly lost. Just cross the ravine, continue to the valley and immediately back on the path. Some fallen trees on the path but nothing problematic. No people anywhere. Nice and hot day in the Peca range. At Planina Zgornja Luža by the hut a very welcome trough with tap where I refilled water for continuing. Supplies almost empty.

Foggy path. Everything muddy, climbing path nicely arranged.

Caretaker announces that the road to Jakobe will be closed 10-14 days to fix it. Follow notices nasmeh

NIGHT ASCENT TO PECA

In the center of Crna we started walking at 22h. Three km asphalt, then steeply up the hill in Pristava. Trail in cloudy weather still dry. Deep breathing from effort disturbed by mosquitoes. At the hut wring out sweat-soaked strap, few sips and continue to the top. Due to fog and wind below summit put on windbreakers. At top few photos and descent to Kumr. Here first properly soaked intermittently. Then to Kumr no more rain, wet ground and wet grass cause some slips.

Today on Peca. Start early in the morning. Starting point - Jakobe. Road soon after the macadam starts iced, so start at junction around 1050 m.a.s.l. Recommend chains or start lower. Path from Jakob closed due to logging, also path to parking. So start on road, then joined path to Tomaževa hut. Path up to 1400 muddy, little snow, mix nasmeh

further packed snow but trodden. Same towards Peca summit. Not much snow, higher up more dry. Hot, so hiked in t-shirt nasmeh

recommend microspikes, crampons would rattle more on rock nasmeh

Return by car towards Crna, similar path. Careful.

Saddle, the only place where the snow creaks as it should :)

On Saturday 8.2. on traditional winter hike to Peca. From Mitnek to Tomaževa hut dry, a bit above hut snow starts and soon ice. Morning quite slippery. From hut to saddle below Mala Peca in shade icy, from saddle to top first dry then icy, so put on crampons. At top some wind and beautiful views all around. Back with crampons to hut. Short stop and then continue with crampons to Tomaževa hut, though already a bit soft. Weather gorgeous - practically cloudless and (too) warm for the season. Quite some hikers on path, though fewer (mostly Carinthians - due to multiple hikes same day...) than previous years.

Peca practically no snow. Just some patches, not dangerous. Via ferrata path no snow, exit from climbing section has some little snow...

Today parked by the road at 1100m. Steep up the slope, past Tomaževa hut and Dom, to the hunters' path. Along it over Železnega to Gladki žlih. Through it to the top.
Descent via ferrata. No snow anywhere, road to Jakobam in desperate state. zadrega
