I have to respond to this. Speaking from some "fairness" standpoint, as if Ljubljančani can charge so mountain people can too, is misplaced. Parking fee is no moral category. It's a plain economic category - function of supply and demand. The good demanded is space. In cities it's clear - little space, many cars, so space has higher price and is charged. Elsewhere with more space, fewer cars, less sense. Same in mountains - parking fee sensible where much traffic vs spots. But need to collect fairly and do useful things with money.

Yep, as I said, famous Bohinj proverb "If ya got nothin' to bring, don't come!", add another "They charge me 1.5 eur parking in Lublan too!" And no mistake on regional stuff, I'm Gorenjec. But repeat, Bohinjec is Bohinjec, can't budge him a mm, even if you mean well or non-maliciously comment facts.

I moved to the countryside to avoid city bigshots, but I run into local sheriffs.
Two Brits recently whined on TV that we have too much bureaucracy here. In a few years they'll whine that we have only parking fees and no offer. Then there'll be wailing about where the tourists are.

I fully agree with the above comment, but I would add that the parking wardens in Bohinj are diligent to nil, they lurk every meter just to cash in. If they were so diligent elsewhere, there would be many more happy guests who would gladly spend more money on tourist services and offer than on repression.

Exactly so, driving to Planina Blato is an economic category, no one forces you to drive to the pasture, like someone to the city by car to pay the parking fee.

Everywhere at all trailheads for our hills and mountains and in all protected parks in our dear slo.bi there should be a UNIFORM PARKING PRICE, then there wouldn't be so much bad blood, but as it is somewhere really too expensive, somewhere too cheap..

Those Bohinj guys are good, kudos to them. From all these posts it's clear we're actually to blame for toll collection to Blato, us Ljubljanans. Without us, everything in Bohinj would be free obviously.

I'd rather almost two days at sea in camping than have another day parked tin at 1150m.-Camping Marina-Labin near Rabac.One of the nicer cheap camps with crystal sea and lots of pine forest, bays, MTB tours options, price 6.90€/day.

Probably wanted to say that city parking fees are much more expensive, but no one gets upset. I agree, a special chapter are hospital parking areas where it should be cheaper, not more expensive than elsewhere. To the hospital we are forced to go, to Bohinj not really necessary if we don't want to pay toll or parking! Such unfriendly places we avoid, maybe with less visits they'll start thinking differently.
Definitely need to think about alternative transports to certain trailheads - at least during the day when "crowd" is biggest.

Why get so upset about this parking fee. Whoever wants to drive to Planina Blato or Voje will just pay, or they can walk. Better go somewhere into nature instead of worrying in front of the computer about unimportant things.
