Beautiful weather but it was blowing like crazy. At the top I made some shots but wind already started howling and it was in gusts so not very safe across the ridge. Path over Konj is renovated so no problem as snow is only a trace.

Today's ascent from Kraljev Hrib to Velika Planina return and ascent to Konj and Rzenik, path is dry and not muddy at all.

Beautiful Sunday or St. Catherine's holiday is an ideal day for hike in mountains. Today my goal is gondola station in Kamniška Bistrica, Planina Dol, Konj and Rzenik and beautiful views on Kamnik-Savinja Alps. nasmeh

wondering if there's still any snow on the path to Konj (and v.planina) from start Kraljevi hrib?, to do a good training if no snow.

I was on May 1st on Velika p. from Kraljev hrib to planina Dol no snow from there to planina Konjščica still some ca 20cm in places a bit more and from Konjščica to Velika still some in shade on path...now probably less nasmeh

Yesterday I went along the hunting trail over Rigelj to Velika Planina, back over Planina Dol and the path was completely dry. Surely this trail is dry too.

I'm wondering if there's any marked trail from the hut at Korošica to Planina Dol and if yes, how long it takes to hike it normally.

smukc, though I've never been on this trail myself, from the hut at Korošica you'll need to go to Presedljaj (i.e. towards Velika Planina, it's an easy marked trail), then on the very difficult marked trail to Konj, from there via Planina Rzenik descend the easy marked trail to Planina Dol.

hut Korošica - Presedljaj approx 1h 30min
Presedljaj - Konj 45min
Konj - Planina Dol 1h

The trail is probably dry, hope someone else can confirm from own experience.

Darxta thanks for reply, but I'm interested in the trail you described as very difficult - what does it mean regarding protection, what is the mandatory recommended gear - helmet, via ferrata kit..

I hiked the trail to Konj in 2006, at the very beginning of my mountain jaunts. That difficult part seemed really more dangerous to me back then, but if I think about it now, it's nothing special. Short thing. Regarding the dry trail, I don't know exactly. Regards

Trail from Presedljaj to Konj is well protected with pegs and steel cables, so no problems should arise on ascent.

Trail Presedljaj-Konj-Planina Dol is completely dry.

Yesterday (Wed) snow started on Planina Dol. Across pasture still without sinking, to Planina Rzenik got harder. Occasionally sinking to knees. After last snowfall only someone with snowshoes ahead marked path nicely. Thanks. From Planina Rzenik to Rzenik trail w/o snowshoes quite brutal sinks occasionally to hips, but possible without them too. No track to Konj.

Today (Wednesday, 13 January) via Dolski graben to Rzenik and Konj. The path from the parking lot was frozen the first few hundred meters in length in the morning (muddy on the way back), higher up increasingly snowy, but thoroughly trampled and not smoothed. The skis I brought on the snow annoyingly slipped. So I quickly took them off and carried them to the end of Dolski graben.

Above Planina Dol the ski track is cut approximately along the direction of the marked path, the path is trampled a bit more to the right. Above planina Rzenik the snow is quite crusty, paths and ski tracks are more or less made both to Rzenik and to Konj, but the wind drifts them quite a bit. From Rzenik I went on to Konj, tried his NW summit too, where there were no tracks. But on the little ridge the last few meters had quite packed snow of questionable stability, cliffs on both sides, so I preferred to turn back just before the summit. On Konj a strong wind started blowing at that moment, which almost blew my backpack away when I was adjusting gear.

Ski descent to planina Rzenik was a journey between crusts. In the forest above planina Dol nice, on mostly unprocessed, slightly rolled dry snow, also on the forest road towards Jaška on the 12th picture from Todi nasmeh

in the Konj section. From Dol I skied to the entrance into Dolski graben, further it didn't make sense anymore.

On the way I met about ten hikers. We chatted quite nicely. Although I hauled skis for just a few hundred elevation meters of skiing, I don't regret it. It was a nice day!

The path through Dolsko grabno is snowy, trampled but not smoothed.

Yesterday again to Rzenik and Konj. Weather better than forecast. Windy somewhere, calm a few meters away..

Maybe someone knows which peak – the plateau on the photo visible in the background, between Jermanov turn and Kalški greben. Taken from Konj.

That's probably it. Height probably like anywhere. On Geopedia.si and Grintovci 2015 it's 2039m nasmeh

Thanks to both. Yes, the contour is 2039.
What confused me: if on the Geopedia map we draw a line from Konj to contour 2039, Jermanov turn is north, or before contour 2039.
Same happens with the map on hribi.net. When zooming in or out the Dolga njiva area, Jermanov turn „moves“ higher or lower from contour 2039.
But if we draw a line from Konj to contour 2039 on the Grintovci map, Jermanov turn is south of the contour. This matches the photo.

Yesterday (Tuesday, 26 January) via Dolski graben first to Konj, then to Rzenik and back. The atmosphere of depressive, cloudy Ljubljana convinced me for a long time to stay home. When I finally arrived below the cable car at Velika planina, the mists had cleared and just a few hundred meters further along the path the whitened Grintovec appeared like magic. The path was initially frozen, then here and there icy, around 900 meters consolidated, well-trodden snow began. From planina Dol there was only a slightly less trodden track, first in the area of the marked path, then right along the forest road towards Jaška and left uphill along the path from Prag towards planina Rzenik. Gaiters were quite necessary there, so I put them on. I reached Konj from the saddle on the west side and then along the ridge. It broke through here and there, but not too bad. Didn't need crampons.

At the summit surprise: someone cleared all the nice, high, rocky mountains above the valleys of Kamniška Bela and Bistricica and replaced them with icy, snow-white sculptures of all shapes and sizes. Instead of Ojstrica he put a white, jagged shark fin, Planjavske Zelenice is one untouched, seemingly beautiful ski slope, instead of Brana just snow-filled gullies, above which only some rock faces are visible here and there, Skuta is really skuta, not to mention the flour-dusted Štruca. Only Grintovec's southeast ridge somehow avoided the snow element. And of course Kogl's south face.

I stared there and all around stunned for quite a while, then along the ridge to Rzenik. At one spot a bit hard, but also here without crampons. Night was approaching, from planina Rzenik to Dol I descended on tracks leading straight down, approx. along the marked path. About 15 cm of powder on hard base gave comfortable descent through the forest.

In Dolski graben, already in the dark, I put on microspikes at about 1100m and took them off at 700m. Right after I slipped full length on leaf-covered ice, the headlamp light didn't help at all in spotting the nasty trap. Lower down at the parking lot my car stood alone in the dark. It was a nice day.
