Drago, the easiest is with the GPS track, then geo(mushroom) hunting will be more successful.

Dear, I would like to cross Pohorje in one direction, of course when the time is right. Need to walk around 60 km. I would walk the trail in three days, so I'm curious where to sleep to do cca 20 km each day? Thanks for help.

If you start in Radvanj I suggest that on the first day you walk 25km to the hut under Klopni vrh, on the second day 18km to Ribniška koča and on the last day 17km to Slovenj Gradec. Go on the trail after May Day holidays, because on Rogla and in some valleys there is still up to 1.5 meters of snow. Good luck!

Last summer I did the same trail in three days. Start was in Radvanj, and I warmly recommend sleeping in the hut under Klopni vrh due to the friendliness of the caretakers. Second day another 23km to Kop, third day 12km to Slovenj Gradec, so enough time left for bus to Dravograd and then train back to Maribor.

Hi, so on Sunday 10.6 if nice weather I'd like to do trail from bolfenk to šumik waterfall, wonder if someone has done this trail what's the difficulty especially last part šumik. Would go direction bolfenk-glažuta-areh-šumik something like that, or if someone from cablecar bottom direct up through strmino vdaro. how much time approx 4 hours from bolfenk? What would be recommended gear, I'd go as light running comfortable lightest shoes without poles... Cos this would be kinda first longer tour cheers

@exwannabe @kor22 From Bolfenk to Šumik waterfall goes Slovenian Mountain Trail. Trail is very current and without peculiarities. Trail running shoes with good grip are quite enough. Marked excellently. No need for Glažuta though. Recommend direction Bolfenk (as you mentioned can go up also via Fiska) - MB hut (latter can skip and go to tower) and along ridge to Areh and finally to Bajgot. Easiest if stick to 1 and you'll be quick at Šumik. At Bajgot signposts will direct you right to Šumik. There only lower part "dangerous" because of environment (water, damp, wet roots, rocks etc.). There are cables and steps so just safe step and quick to Veliki Šumik. Timing depends on step speed cca 4 hours from Bolfenk + time from MB. Cheers, Nino

The intelligence level of those who race around Pohorje on motorbikes is evident from the comments on the picture below. The comments refer to a short YouTube video. The guy was riding a cross motorbike on a hiking trail. And be careful not to destroy the undergrowth with your hiking poles....ha ha ha

In memory of Ivan, 14 of us hikers gathered at Gradiški križ in SG. The trail led us to Pohorje, and across Pohorje to MB. Somewhere Friday's rain was quite noticeable. Near "strategic" points there were many people. But there are also places where you don't meet anyone for several km. In the late afternoon, we descended to the foot of the steep "slope".

Today a quick jump to Mariborsko Pohorje to maintain fitness. Weather fantastic, still quite a few people. The viewpoint tower on Mariborsko Pohorje is closed indefinitely due to deterioration Regards! Tone
