Srednja vas - Polhograjska Grmada (circular trail). Everything suggests that the Polhograj Hills were perfect for today. My friend and I headed out on the mentioned circular trail and I have to admit it was beautiful (from weather to views). Highly recommend.

Yesterday walked the trail, not demanding but very pleasant. Our youngest daughter liked the trail a lot because mostly flat only last part a bit steeper. Has some rocky sections perfect for small kids.

Labor Day and ascent to Grmada starting from village Belica and along marked trail to Grmada summit. No crowds on this trail, weather very good, views slightly hazy, and we had a dog from Belica as companion or even guide. Descent via circular trail along ridge then to village Dvor. Total time 3 hours, easy and relaxing. Recommend.

The forecast of strong wind deterred us from the originally planned Julijci visit. Instead, a half-day trip to the Dolomites (Polhograjske ). Like many before us, from the village Belica to Polhograjska Grmada, back circularly to the village Dvor. We experienced "colorful" weather: cloudy with occasional sunny spells, moderate wind, most surprised by the "dance" of rare snowflakes on the top (at barely under 900 m above sea level we really did not expect them) - but enough for childlike joy, on the way to the car between Dvor and Belica, a couple of raindrops. The trail is really nicely laid out, easy, and an excellent choice for a half-day trip.

Polhograjci are very visited, photos from there don't appear often. This is yesterday's snapshot from the trail to Grmada - from Gonte towards the summit. Right Tošč, behind Julijci.

Hello! From where (direction) and when (season, month) do you most recommend for visiting Grmada? And so that I could perhaps go to other peaks (or some peak) of Polhograjske Hills. (Once I was almost at the Grmada summit, but since I had low hiking shoes on I didn't dare right to the top ( ankles), although I was very close and saw the summit.) Thanks and best regards

To Polh.Grmada there are many trails: From Mačkov graben, from Srednja vas or Pograjski dom from the Polhograjska side, Topola-Katarina, from Ločnica direction from Rovtar village, longer but nicer from the farm at Govejek, where we cross a nice part of the highest Polhograjci. In winter conditions and snow, especially the summit pyramid, despite not high altitude, is dangerous for slipping, especially when icy. Therefore I recommend boots, poles and in icy conditions (early spring) also crampons. GRS Ljubljana has most interventions right on this peak and Šmarna gora with fractures or sprains of ankle, leg, arm. Tourist farm on Gonte ridge 787m is always open on weekends - sunny terrace.

Hello! Viharnik, many thanks for the comprehensive information. I've decided to wait for better weather (spring) and not tempt fate, let alone GRS.

I think the nicest path to Polh. Grmada is from Dvor in Polhov Gradec valley. The path most resembles a hill tour. Start at ancient Gothic churchlet. First along the wall, turn right, across meadow into woods. I think not marked below, higher unmistakable. For down, best direct down path. Not marked again (if not mistaken), along ridge east of ascent path per my desc. Reach valley one village before Dvor, 1 km road awaits. Very nice also path from Katarina. Viharnik, don't tease, some at work

My favorite is the slightly wild approach by the waterfall in Veliki Graben or along the ridge right above it. From shady approaches, the hunting path is a real sweetie that runs ~100m below the ridge and connects marked paths between Gontami and Mah'ček. Of marked variants, I like best the one from Sle.

Sla, some work so much that the state won't even cover the funeral, I prefer fewer bills in the wallet, wisely using the allotted time.

Hello! Thanks to all 3. It seems that besides the official (marked) paths, there are other approaches too. I will study the maps, so that we get to know other parts of our Fairest a bit. (Viharnik, sla didn't mean anything bad imo (hence ), Slovenes are anyway prone to envy; at least it hurts me when I have to work when I would rather go hiking or when I see others free. Soon longer days,... If you admit (your envy), they say it's forgiven. Regarding funerals, they say no one was left on top or outside. )

Today's conditions on Grmada. Path from Mačkov graben over Gont is excellent and not slippery, as there is no high frequency of people there. Path via Mehačk farm is worn down to ice in some parts and extremely slippery.

That's how it was today up on Grmada. Path from Mehačk farm direction nicely trodden, not excessively slippery.

Well, tonight Franci and I went on a night hike to Grmada. We started from village Dvor, thus avoiding excessive crowd from Polhov Gradec side. Path passed quickly in moonlight, no crampons needed on path because we stuck to path edge. From hunting hut to top huge crowd, path "slick", crampons needed, but path edge no problems. To organizers due to many falls we witnessed, recommend in future circular one-way path "hunting hut-Grmada top-Gonte-hunting hut". Descent fast and without problems, excellent fitness tour. Nice impression spoiled only slightly by too many "know-it-alls" on path and "unnecessary comments" about knowing conditions, nevertheless. LP Andrej P.S (for information) URSZR Bulletin– 30.01.10 At 23.58 on organized night hike to Polhograjska Grmada in municipality Dobrova-Polhov Gradec, on descent at Gonte saddle a hiker slipped and injured right ankle. GRS Ljubljana mountain rescuers carried him 300 vertical meters lower, from where they transported him by off-road vehicle to valley to Polhov Gradec, where rescuers took him to KC Ljubljana.
