Anyone coming by train to Ljubljana is best to get off there, then city bus no. 5 to the final stop Podutik. From there less than an hour to Toško Čelo, to Katarina another 5 km/1 h, via ridge path to Polh. Grmada additional 1 h 15 min. Total therefore ~ 3 h 30 min to the top.

On January 6, 2012, there was the 21st anniversary night hike to Polhograjska Grmada, for me the 10th. Conditions were not wintry at all, dry and moderately windy, moon almost in full glow.

Today to Katarina,
to measure its length.
Didn't count steps,
but happy I was,
that to Grmada I climbed.
Sun shining,
no great heat giving,
cold breeze blowing,
along path flowering gentians smiling,
I happily puffing uphill.
Birds singing
their love radiating,
I into ravine dash,
bouquet for mom to make
and with it heart pain chase.

Since Saturday afternoon sky "opened" had to use the day well and so we went on circular path. Started in Dvori, couple 10 m before Gothic churchlet in Dvori, continued on well-marked path first to Mala Grmada, then Grmada and back towards Belica. Path bp, to Belica somewhat muddy on some sections. Overall nice hike. Recommend.

Today I quickened my step,
not to catch the train,
but to sweat honestly,
maybe to chase away illness.
I met quite a few people,
some not even hello,
which worries and saddens me.
Along the path full of cyclamen,
which I give to mom for joy.

Me too, on Saturday to Polhograjska Grmada and then to Tošč; weather forecasters scared me with their forecast (rains will spread midday across all Slovenia except Primorska), so I had to change the planned long all-day tour to something short; no regrets, because the path is really nice with beautiful views, and it can be nice even on "lowland hillocks"; started from Katarina, then to Grmada, descent past tourist farm Gonte, then to Tošč, back the same way to Gonte and under Grmada to the start - 3.5 hours for "leisurely pace"; path soft, forested, except last part of Grmada, well marked, benches along it inviting rest, admiring nature, absorbing energy, snack from backpack…..; at top of Grmada quite a crowd, also youngsters (youngest maybe 6 months), so no worry for descendants not loving mountains; lp

Today again a quick one to Grmada. Started in Polhovem Gradec. Up over Ravnek and Mala Grmada, down over Setnica or directly past Sv. Uršula as the track went. All paths fully trodden. In the lower part snow heavily messed up, top pure winter. Snow ohohoho, just sunshine missing. Hope tomorrow is better.

Yesterday walked circular route Topol - Grmada - Gonte - Trnovec - Topol. Snow up to 30 cm, path tracked and morning quite icy in many places.
