Hi. Has anyone visited Polhograjska these days and from which direction? What are the conditions... are classic crampons needed or are so-called mini crampons enough for "mid-mountain"? Thanks

I went today from Topol. Put small crampons in the backpack and on feet if needed.  Some had them, others didn't. For big ones I didn't see the need, at most they would hinder.

From Polhov Gradec to Grmada. First time from this direction. Past village Ravnek to the top, return along the ridge to Mala Grmada, past church of St. Ursula and village Ravnek to starting point. From Setnica to Ravnek mistakenly on upper forest path. Luckily, as it's completely dry, lower one past Božne is icy on considerable part. Few visits on this side, very warm and scenic.

Yesterday 06 01 2023 night hike to Polhograjska Grmada. Polhov Gradec-mountain hut pd. Blagajana-Hunter's hut-Grmada(a bit windy)-farm Gonte-(on lower path)-Hunter's hut-farm tourism pr.Mhaku-mountain hut pd.Blagajana- Polhov Gradec.

In the dark from home, in the cold trudging behind the first hiker through some 40 cm of snow, views repaid all the effort. Such a day with clear cold morning the day after snowfall is experienced every 10 years!?

A year has passed and another wonderful night hike to Polhograjska Grmada. Lots of hikers, wonderful moon, path a bit of everything, dry-wet-snow but very little trodden.

Morning, in a still slightly cool breeze, from Božna uphill to the forest! We follow ridge paths to flowering meadows under St. Ursula, where we snack a bit on sorrel, then briskly to Mala Grmada. Tender green beeches are replaced by pines, and it smells really nice, like at the sea! A friendly wind accompanies us, views are more foggy but Triglav is still visible. Grmada summit has quite a few visitors, bench in the lee under the summit is empty as if waiting for us! The kids like it!
From the top we descend to Gonte, and already in proper warmth we cross the slope to Jelovčnik, from there down to the ravine and along the road back to the car.

Part of the path between Mačkov graben and Mehačka is closed. Some post-flood remediation or similar? But no big deal, the barricades on both sides have hand-written detour signs to a parallel trail (marked on OSM), which goes a bit lower than the official one. Also need to cross a stream or torrent on stones, this time no problem, with more water probably wet feet. The crossing is right under some barrier (intake?), from where strange sounds emanate. In shorts season, maybe add that something like nettles grows by this stream.
Otherwise, during the morning forenoon "freshness" (if we can call it that at 20 degrees) there was real dead calm on both Grmadas and Tošec, in total really just a handful of passers-by encountered.

Today in strong snowfall over Mačkov graben to the top of Polhograjska Grmada. Quite a few of us were on the top today.
