This weekend at Prehodavcih...at the hut at 7J could see some tracks towards pl. Blato, towards Zadnjica nothing.
But without skis or snowshoes you won't get far... Lp

I was up there yesterday. Through Komarča to Prehodavci there are footprints. At Prehodavci I met 3 alpinists who headed on foot to Zadnjica. But it's so icy in all directions that crampons are necessary, tracks almost invisible due to icy surface.

Good luck!

14.9.2019: Blato-Hut at Triglav Lakes-Triglav Lakes Valley-Hut at Prehodavci-Vrata-valley Za Kopico-Dedno polje-Blato.
After a completely clear morning it quickly clouded over, mists were racing all day, sunny at Prehodavci and to Vrata. At the fence before Planina pri Jezeru a lot of cattle. Later we met three more shepherds who were driving their herds. Yes, they were leaving the alpine pasture. A little above the hut at Triglav Lakes we observed two marmots and just a bit further on the large screes under Kopica chamois. On the path through the valley lots of hikers, quite a few foreign youths. Lakes beautiful, Mlako under Vršaki we saw only when we were ascending towards Vrata. Path to Vrata very high-mountain, beautiful and panoramic. Valley Za Kopico without views of Vogle and Kopica due to clouds, occasionally some part of Zelnaric showed. Valley Za Kopico completely different from Triglav Lakes Valley, trail very well trodden, also quite some visitors that day. In two sinkholes along the path still quite some snow, but it didn't reach the trail. We found the junction to Slatno and Kredo, which are also on our list of paths. Enthused by the hiked path. nasmeh Second time through Triglav Lakes Valley, first time 25 years ago nasmehnasmeh
Prepared for departure into the valley1
Wonderful rocky reliefs in the Valley of Triglav Lakes, just above the brown part is a marmot2
The path to Prehodavci appeared blue3
Ledvička and an interesting white rocky wall on the other side of the lake4
Hairy sviščevec - interesting edges of the petals5
The Great Lake also from the other side, gentle rippling of the surface is visible6
Already close to the goal, the highest Kanjavec?7
Zelnarica and large screes below it, to the left the Vrata saddle8
Still from Green Lake9
Towards Špičje clouds for most of the day10
At Green Lake we all stayed a bit longer, very nice atmosphere11
Brown Lake12
Still up close, with darkly colored rocks, actually they are pitch black13
Already towards Vrata, only here another lake appeared - Mlaka pod Vršaci14
In the middle of the picture the hut at Prehodavci - exceptional location15
Julian poppy - the only one that day, below Vršaki16
Beautiful high alpine terrain17
Also this bouquet is the only one of the day, very little flowers.18
Last views of this side, then into the valley Za Kopico.19
View from the saddle Vrata - already from here or even from here the hut at Prehodavci is visible.20

KarmenT, you have nicely experienced by adding comments to the pictures and thus brought your visit to Triglav Lakes and Za Kopico valley closer to us. Interesting that so few flowers remained, as this part is always very rich with them. Obviously the summer heat was too much. In picture 5 it's really a whistling marmot, which really announces autumn. Lpnasmeh

Hi!

What's the path to Za Kopico valley like? Is there still any snow, risk of slipping, need for crampons,...?
Thanks, regards

We were there about a week ago. On the path there was still one steep snowfield, just before joining from Vratc the path from Hribarice to Prehodavci. We went carefully across those 10 meters without winter gear, it was trampled and the snow soft. Should be possible to avoid the snowfield below on dry ground, but due to slope and scree it looked more awkward than over the snowfield.

We went in the opposite direction, from Prehodavci or Kanjavec to Dedno polje.

Otherwise it's a wonderful path Za Kopico, flowering, green, solitary, gentle, we'll come again.
Good luck!

Has anyone gone these days from Zadnjica to Zasavska koča on Prehodavci? How much snow is still on the path?

It was like this nearby last Friday:
"Police Administration Kranj reported today that on Friday a team between Zadnjica and Dolič rescued seven foreign hikers who due to inexperience and snow conditions got scared and stuck on the path with inappropriate gear. Helicopter transported them unharmed to Trento."

Since we were staying a few days in Bohinj, the nearby hills called for a visit by themselves. Of course only the male half of the family agreed, a glance at the booklet with (missing) SPP stamps indicated the direction: towards the Triglav Lakes Valley! To see if there really are 7 … eek
First from Savica over Komarča to Koča pri Triglavskih Jezerih, then hike extension to Prehodavci. At the friendly hut (staff + ambience) ample refreshment, then return via 7 Lakes valley to the hut and on via safer / friendlier / longer variant through Lopučniška dolina to Komna and back to start.
In 7 Lakes valley such traffic that one can't even go "behind a rock" in peace … jezen 90 percent of hikers were foreigners with backpacks of all sizes, the rest for me … up down up down …
We got ideal weather: high cloudiness, occasional sun, perfect combo for elevation gain and distance. Early rising proved very good too: sun didn't reach 7 Lakes valley for long and Zelnarice, Tičarice & Co provided shade!
The path from Komna to valley dragged most … those 48 switchbacks dragged on with no end. Timetable from Komna to Koča pri Savici promising 1h30min probably for rested, not us who started hike at 5:30 and finished at 19:30; but at that late hour some hikers headed uphill …
Here I'd thank Mrs. Ana from Slovenska Bistrica who joined us on ascent and accompanied to hike end. Those who know her, pass greetings.
P.S.: female family part meanwhile e-biked around Bohinj … jezik

Picture No.3. This is the third or Great Lake, if counting from the lowest-lying one (Black Lake)

This is Ledvica, the fourth lake, not the third! If counting from below, Črno (1.), Dvojno (2. and 3.) and Ledvica as 4. If counted (as usual) from above, then Jezero pod Vršaki (1.), Rjava mlaka (2.), Zeleno jezero (3.) and Ledvica (4.).

Aha. Thanks for the clarifications. What about water quality in 7J? Say huts are closed and backpack is dry? Namely, at the hut there's one outdoor tap from which we all happily refilled water supplies ... because if cloudy, you use less. But when sun at noon without wind additionally heats hikers, thirst increasesssss.

@bbugari1......In the picture it's undoubtedly Ledvica or Veliko jezero.
But... I've often been in a dilemma myself about how the Triglav lakes are counted. This time too, yet I wrote it's the third lake from below. I relied on the official Bohinj website, under which the mentioned lakes fall. From below up: 1.Črno jezero, 2.Dvojno jezero, 3.Veliko jezero, 4.Zeleno jezero, 5.Rjavo jezero, 6.Mlaka na Laštah, 7.Jezero pod Vršacem.

Of course I don't insist on mine. I'd be glad for more opinions or if someone knows the actual/official naming of these lakes (not just Wiki). It seems opinions clash right at Dvojno jezero (whether counted as one lake or two).

All traditional literature counts Dvojno jezero as 5. and 6., Mlaka v Laštah not counted as one of the lakes.
What Bohinj folks do is another modern nonsense, because everyone thinks they can invent something their own way.

Hi, on a nice sunny Saturday, 16.10., from Trenta to Prehodavci. Around 200 elevation meters below the summit, snow patches start on the path, but they are not problematic. Lp
