On the border stands this rocky peak, which offers bilingual views. Nothing tiring, but picturesque, views worthy of excellence; you can take with you as much as you can carry. Nice day, no noise of foreigners, everything dear to me around and close. Circular route, up Kranjska Gora (if that's Krainer), down over Pastirkovo sedlo. Maps like Jezersko area don't say more about these parts, true Gorenjci still skimpy here. Given the surroundings and many hunting spots, it seemed to me people here do two things: hike mountains or hunt. Well, maybe both. zavijanje z očmi

They forbid everything. from picking mushrooms, blueberries to the path... And here! :)

Here the path turns back to Jezerski vrh (or rather the saddle).

The second half of the route is in snow and hard to follow. Towards the top, sinking quite deeply. At the top, the opposite: dry nasmeh

Snails on Saturday in quite reduced group did circular tour. Up "climbing", down other side. Clouds spoiled views a bit, otherwise nice and undemanding. Suitable for kids and adults to first get acquainted with cables along path. Over Pastirkovo sedlo better not for a while, because tree felling tore up forest road and mud "to knees". lp

This morning up there, met only one compatriot on the path. At the top, clear view to Triglav. On the north side of KSA still lots of solid snow, especially under Skuta, Grintovec and Kočna. Also on this peak huge mosquitoes like on so many peaks this year. Warm, sunny weather. Super tour: lots of cycling spiced with a bit of walking and some easy climbing. Krainerjeva path is one of the easiest secured paths.

Yesterday visited Pristovski Storžič, wonderful view on KSA. Looks like standing on a balcony opposite KSA. nasmeh

Lots of visitors too - colorful company - Slovenes, Croats, Austrians, Germans. Up and down Krainerjeva path. No water anywhere along the path, drought took all. Highly recommend visit to this peak, just an hour from ex-border crossing.

Today I visited Pristovski Storžič and can confirm that the views are really phenomenal, especially with such weather that more resembles September than the end of October.... nasmeh

From Jezersko vrh via Krainerjeva we went today to Pristovski Storžič to look. Weather was not best favorable to us, but sun showed here and there. Short but "luštkan". Only one on the whole path!! nasmeh

It would be nice if we started using the nice Slovenian name "Kranjska pot" for this trail.

Yesterday up via Kranjska pot. Trail normally passable. Along trail still sea of crocuses. Weather fantastic. At summit one hour enjoying the view.
Return via easier detour. Mistake! From summit to saddle still plenty of snow. Trail almost untraceable. Normally ~10min for that section, yesterday 25min. Recommend waiting 3 weeks for this trail, esp. if first time. From saddle down trail dry. On path some small broken branches and one larger spruce, but no big issues. In just over 4hrs met no living soul except capercaillie and chamois.
Two more telephotos.

Kranjska pot - that's probably Krainerweg (more demanding trail with some cables), which goes from the south side.

Today I went via easier trail. Fog at summit. Few visitors.

From the parking lot on the Austrian side after 100 m is the first sign directing to the path across the meadow.

Right in front of the inn immediately after the Jezerski vrh border crossing on the Austrian side is a small parking for five cars.

First steep section that starts after a few minutes walk on the forest road.

At 1410 m it is still possible to park and this board is a warning sign that this is a bear area.

View of the road by which I arrived before the first ascent.

The logbook box contains only a notebook, no stamp.

At the top a memorial (the plaque reads: Koroška svobodna in nerazdeljena!) for the 42nd anniversary of the plebiscite in Koroška, 10 October 1920.

Alone at the top, met 9 visitors on the path.

Krainerjeva path has just a little snow left. Got to the top without any problem without winter gear. Probably a bit harder in the morning.

Janiel74 - thanks for the reply.
I'm attaching some pics from yesterday (19.4). There was some new snow, but crampons and ice axe were not needed due to spring temperatures. Gaiters were useful on descent via easy path - up to a meter of snow in places, sinks to the butt nasmeh

Trekking poles and some caution help.

Almost a year has passed and today again to Pristovški Storžič. Up the Kranjska path, return via easier path around. Kranjska path mostly dry on most difficult sections (sl.2 and 4). Only a little snow near middle cables (sl.5), which doesn't pose problems.
Summit completely bare, no new snow anymore.
Easier path is snowy to the saddle (sl.6).

In the middle of the path it's hurrying to the sun

Today, from the guarded border crossing to Storžič.
We chose a slightly harder path, which we took for the first time. The path is in good condition despite rain in previous days, so we reached the top without issues. We met some hikers too. At the top we had good view, except KSA were in fog. We descended the north side, because we also went to Virnikov Grintovec.

Afternoon from Upper Jezersko to Pristovški Storžič via secured path. Very little snow and no problem, descended via north path to Austrian side and my own way to Roblek, from there to the valley.
