Saturday, 27.2.2021

We used Saturday with my friend for the ascent to Pristovski Storžič. Up and down on the Austrian side, we had the gear with us, but didn't need crampons and ice axe. Gaiters yes. Somewhat above Pasterk saddle we lost the track, from there to the top we went by nose or approximately in the direction I remembered from quite a few visits to this mountain. Not necessarily on the easiest and least steep path. Weather not that nice, but far from bad. Rest on the top, sightseeing, then descent a bit elsewhere than we went up. Alone all day. Pleasant outing in most pleasant company nasmeh

Afternoon to Pristovski Storžič, start at border crossing and stick to Austrian markers. Little snow, two/three snow patches to the top. Descended to the other side, where much more snow and back past Ankova planina.

Thirteen hikers gathered, main guide Marko with two assistants. Autumn weather, some clouds, but pleasant for walking. Goal 1.759 m high border mountain Pristovški Storžič. We arrived at the border crossing at Jezersko, ascent along the path with chains. On the top beautiful views, entire Košuta ridge, in the distance Begunjščica, Stol, Dobrča. In front of us Storžič, Virnikov Grintovec, Stegovnik, Ženiklovec. And of course Kočna, Grintovec, Skuta, Rinke. In the distance Peca, Olševa and Raduha and of course Obir...Descent on partially snowy path and then nice part in autumn grasses. At the lake at Jezersko we treated ourselves to a snack, service good, fast, soup and štruklji super. For the end also viewing the renovated Šenkova farm, exactly 500 years old, where owner Karničar showed it to us and served coffee. Nice to spend few days there, be it summer, autumn or winter idyll. We spent a nice day...

When twenty or more years pass from the first and only visit (well, sometimes much morenasmeh), it's time for a repeatnasmeh. Yesterday morning we set off to this beautiful peak, up the Kranjska path (Krainersteig), down the northern, Austrian side. Fog quickly came from somewhere, so views weren't exactly as they could be, but even so we experienced the majesty of this beautiful peak. Jože has visited it already the sixth timenasmeh (yes, we hiked separately for a long time)

Yes, it saddens me that the summit isn't entirely on the Slovenian side, but let's be grateful that we can go up just like Austrians, and that's somethingnasmeh.

Yes it is possible, but there are quite a few unmarked forest roads and clearings and pathless terrain. The circular route is an orientation, fitness and time challenge.
