Hello!
I'm interested in the easiest or most suitable path to Križ (Rinka), preferably marked. Kind regards.

If you're afraid of exposed views into the depths, go via Ledine (from Jezersko) over Jezersko sedlo along the climbing path; you can also start from Okrešelj over Turski žleb, at the top of the gully to the right it's easily accessible to both Rinki or Skuta (PP passes there), or from Cojzova koča over Mali Podi, but the approach is long.

He said the easiest one... To Rinke you can go off-trail over Gamsov skret or over Žmavcarje (well trodden) or from Kokrsko sedlo on the marked path over Pode.

Yes, off-trail ?? So he'll get lost. There are NO MARKINGS there and you need some sense of orientation.

The marked one isn't easy! The one from Kokrsko sedlo is somewhat easier but long. I recommend the unmarked path over Žmavčarje. Orientation is a bit tricky in places but it's good training for orientation. If possible, take someone who knows the path.

Thanks for all the advice. What about from Kamniško sedlo? Is it doable? How much walking is it from there? Best regards to all

What if you looked in some mountaineering guide? Objective info is still most reliable there. But really the easiest is via Žmavcarje (even easier with someone who knows it)! The tour is long.

Thanks again to all. On Sunday I was on Rinke via Žmavčarje, orientation wasn't hard despite the fog, as there were many hikers. Even if there weren't, the path is very well trodden. Just be careful from the bivouac to the marked path from Kam. sedlo to Kokrsko sedlo. Best regards again to all!

Today Rinke from Okrešelj (mala, štajerska, koroška, kranjska), back to bivouac under Skuta, descent to Kamniška Bistrica. Regards

Today I was on Koroška Rinka or Križ from Ledin. To me it seems medium long. It's demanding, well protected, as many cables as you want, real climbing eldorado. Recommend for lovers of demanding ascents.

I went from Logarska to Križ! So over Okrešelj, and already before Savinjsko sedlo left towards Češka koča / Križ. Because lots of climbing on pegs and "zajlah"... Back over Štajerska and Mala and into Turski žleb.

Hi! I'm interested in the route that Aljažek did, so from Okrešelj, left on Savinjsko to Križ, then over Štajerska and Mala Rinka to Turski žleb. How long is the tour time-wise? In the tours it only says to Križ from Rinka waterfall - 5 hours. What about the rest of the path? How long is it from the top of Križ over the other Rinke and through the gully back to Okrešelj?

If I read correctly, "Aljažek" climbed to Rinka/Križ directly from Mrzli dol via the climbing path (if he avoided Savinjsko sedlo) and joined the path from Ledin (Kranjska koča) over Jezersko sedlo. Is that so?

Mrzli dol: around 7 Križ: 9:45 Okrešelj: 12:00 I didn't go to Kranjska Rinka, only to Mala and Štajerska. Panda, you're right, via ferrata from Mrzli dol to that path from Ledin, then to the top. I didn't go to the top of Savinjsko sedlo at all, because the ferrata ends before.

I think we mean the same thing. From the path to Sav. sedlo turn left where the climbing path goes. I've walked everything around, but not this one yet, so I wondered if, when planning via this climbing path to Koroška rinka and then continuing to Mala and the gully, that's time-wise a fairly comfortable day trip or if one needs to keep a solid pace despite the difficulty to complete it in one day. If I understood Aljažek correctly now, he started the ferrata at 7, crossed the Rinke and descended the gully to Okrešelj, where he was already drinking beer at 12. Right?

A nice greeting, I got the info a bit too quickly to pass it on to you. On Sunday we went to Mala Rinka through Turski žleb. Winter conditions are very stable and still forming. You can get to the base quite quickly without major troubles and sinking in avalanche debris, Turski žleb is compacted, not icy, so pleasant walking. From Turski žleb onwards it's icy in places, on wind-exposed areas no issue... Despite the bad forecast, we had a very nice sunny day! As for snow conditions on Okrešelj itself, it's rather bad: snow is mushy and not properly settled, some puddles in places, especially on Mala Rinka. So for ridges it's hard. With the car you can get to Dragica... 2 hours to Okrešelj. Nice greeting...

I'm interested in the conditions on the climbing path to Rinke, if anyone has been up there recently. How much snow is still on the path. Thanks for the info. LP

This weekend I was on the path to Savinjsko sedlo, forgot to take a photo where the path turns into climbing, it would be better to assess the conditions. Otherwise, the entry to the climbing part of the path is still snow-covered and there's some higher up too. LP.

Turnoff in Mrzli dol crosses a snow tongue, which is not problematic. Entry to climbing path is bare. Higher up problems start, as two gullies (first brackets and lojtra) are full of remnants of compacted snow, which makes progress difficult. Not saying it's impossible, but troublesome and strenuous (without crampons and ice axe not recommended). If you want to go up via T. žleb, no problem, as the scree at the exit (Skuta-Rinke) is bare to the top. Path from Savinjsko sedlo will be bare in about a month. Now you have to decide yourself which path to choose. LP

Hello! I'm wondering if anyone has hiked to Rinke via Žmavcarje recently and can tell about passability - are crampons and ice axe still needed? Thanks for any replies and safe steps to all!
