Dear all nasmeh

I'm not quite sure if "thank you" fits as a response to your comments. Because everything that happens in the mountains and everything Jurij and I write is our love anyway. The rock is there, we wanted to go, we wanted to write... Experiences in the mountains no one can take away from you anyway, no one (except mountaineers, and today not even all) can even understand. So everything else is unimportant. Even if only we knew about all the feats and stubborn, hard steps and read my notes to myself nasmeh

But it's true, I'm happy for one thing, and that's making someone else happy too. Someone. Unknown. Just like that, in passing. That's nice! When you make others happy, you make yourself happy, they say nasmeh So thank you, although that's probably too mild a word. So be it. Mountaineers understand.

To all the most beautiful melodies of mountain silence.

Nice days continue and it would be a sin to spend them at home. Yesterday I decided to visit the Rinke, which look so fascinating from Kamniško sedlo in winter.
A bit after half past eight I left the car, parked at the lower station of the freight cable car to Kokrsko sedlo and headed towards Žmavčarji. This is, besides the path from Logarska dolina and Turski žleb, the shortest and for me the most beautiful path, with a bivouac along the way. Due to the southern exposure and little snow, the path is dry and bare all the way to the caves at the forest exit. Even higher up crampons still rest in the backpack, they are indispensable only under the last flank below the bivouac, where the slope is steep and the snow hard. Here I overtake the only hiker of today, who had bad luck just before the bivouac, his helmet slid down the slope into the depths. If the owner reads this, let me tell him that two climbers found it.
In the bivouac I change, have a snack and first head towards Kranjska Rinka. Walking was pure pleasure, snow frozen, everything nicely covered, no frost, fantastic visibility. Interestingly, there was wind and quite cold only on the top of Kr. Rinka, the rest of the tour was practically windless. Since there are four Rinke and I had plenty of time, I of course visited all. Many don't even know about the Little one.nasmeh

During last year's visit to Rinke there was much less snow in mid-winter than yesterday. I run into the first one, which was packed like concrete, covered with rocks, soil and crushed trees, already five minutes from the car. That was an avalanche of enormous dimensions and power, which also covered part of the path. First snow (that didn't go for a walk)nasmeh appears a bit lower than last year, above the forest there's already a lot, almost all scree covered. Not hard, doesn't sink either, but for easier progress I still put on crampons. Quickly at the bivouac, where the only two hikers from my direction left their poleszmeden, I change and on excellent base in sunny weather with minimal wind first ascend to Kranjska Rinka. Since they are all very close, I visit all four. From the summits it was really interesting to watch how new and new hikers appear on the white snow, crawling up from Turski žleb. On return in the bivouac I wolf down another sandwich, descent to the forest was at least as fast as from Dvojka to Rdeči potok. Even at three in the afternoon only my horse was lonely on the parking.
From Mokrica onwards. (from the path over Žmavčarje)1

Thanks, guys!
Yes, in good conditions it's really a pleasure to roam the hills. The mentioned route has become really popular with me, here you practically don't make any big detours. Of course, pleasant snow conditions and nice weather are the main factors for a satisfying mountain visit. I took photos with phone and camera. Unfortunately not too satisfied with the servicer, as the camera still turns on while zooming, and the settings were messed up... I tamed it only at home. At least half were unusable, I still posted some (darker ones).
@Trobec, I think we met at the foot of Styrian Rinkanasmeh

Otherwise also super conditions in the gully, a bit of postholing below the gully. Parking at Dom planincev, road closed further on.

Yes, on Feb 15 I also 'measured' the length of Logar Valley with a visit to Savinja Saddle. Then it was quite comfortable walking on thick frozen snow cover. But above Okrešelj it was tougheek

Kranjska Rinka (9.5.2021).

Start in Konec, via Žmavčarje (snow starts at 1500 m), to the bivouac below Skuta. Snow frozen all the time. Up the southwest couloir to the summit (excellent conditions). At the summit complete calm, summer temperatures.
Descent complete opposite of ascent. First 200 m sinking to ass (better to descend the couloir itself), continuation to
bivouac: south-facing snow. Continuation of descent: one big mess.
On the whole tour met only two ski tourers.

Otherwise path without special features, just in lower part avalanche buried part of path. Careful.
Good luck.
