Yesterday we did a circular tour from Okrešelj. Via Mrzli Dol we visited Rinke and returned via Turski Žleb to the starting point. On the north side of Križ there were real "winter" conditions towards the top (snow, ice) so extra caution needed... lp

Stanko! This path usually had a sign a bit from the Savinja source that it's closed. In summer I once descended it (no sign). Don't know if I was so clumsy or the marker painted marks so illogically that I suddenly lost track (before crossing the scree gully), which is probably the culprit for closing the path. I looked for path or marks and then returned to where it ended for me. Logical continuation is descent to gully but now it's routed left up steeply and then down to gully, which you cross. Didn't seem to me that crossing gullies (you cross several) anywhere so dangerous that path closed. Or it seemed easy because before I crossed more scree gullies much more dangerous for slipping. The path is quite a bit longer than if you descend past waterfalls and less scenic, so you didn't miss much... Lp

Zlatko I walked the shepherd path years ago, but now it doesn't make sense to me that from below the path is open, from above a bit below the source it's closed. That means if you go up it's passable, but if you go down it's not. lp

Below I never looked if there was ever a sign about closure. Also never thought to go up from below. Otherwise I know there was a sign up there all years (Shepherd path CLOSED). But it's not logical, if they put a warning up there, why not below!! Maybe someone who knows more reads it and forwards the answer...!! Lp

I also walked the Shepherd path only downhill, don't remember any sign below at all. Anyway as geppo said, who doesn't walk it misses nothing. The path is really longer, runs mostly through forest without views, don't remember any dangerous spot, but poorly marked. Maybe closed due to low visits, since all who walked it did it only once (at least those I know). Lp

capin you wrote that well... for years I remember that wooden sign nailed to wooden post (I have photo somewhere but too lazy to search) but better closed like this than some "Sunday" visitor of Okrešelj gets lost... Lp

We also walked it downhill years ago and also don't remember any sign, neither below nor above. But it's true that better closed for normal hiking visits. When snow still lies it's quite slippery.....Need to be quite careful LP

If we're researching, I found a post from 2009 storžek 29.9.2009 Antik, a month ago I went on this path, which had been closed for several years, and specifically downhill. From the kiosk you go straight up, first to the right, then left across two gullies above the waterfall. You reach the usual path a bit before the Savinja source. The path is a bit worse marked; you need to consistently watch the markings, but it is longer than the direct one.

After a serious illness I'm glad to see my short contribution that geppo, faithful to the mountains, found. Just over a year ago, when I came down from Turska gora, the path below the source was open; I missed the crossing over the gully above the waterfall at first but then found it. But really the path is boring down through the forest, I think they once drove sheep here towards Kamniško sedlo because there was no other option. The path is really long, but you have to hike it once. l.p.

storž I like this: but you have to hike it once.. With that intention I did it too! Hang in there storž and I wish you... Lp

Yes Geppo, thanks, doctors work miracles, they are often mountaineers too, so they endure better. If I hold out, I don't doubt it, we'll go together to Storžek, you surely know it, it's in your area. l.p.

Koroška Rinka today sunlit from all sides. Up past Okrešelj towards the saddle and then left into the wall. A bit below the summit some frozen snow which poses no problems. Descent through Turski žleb. Protections there ok. One of the nicer protected routes in my opinion.
