A little off-topic outside Slovenia. This is a chapel on Southern Velebit under Tulove grede.

Cross on Holy Mountain, a 1700 m high peak on South Velebit.

The peak is bald - magnificent views far around.

Yesterday I saw this wooden cross on Planina Za Krajem near the hut under Bogatin. Last year I hadn't noticed it yet.

Now crosses on the Hohe Tauern above 3,000 m. Austrians are a very religious people. Almost on every mountain there are crosses that remind of the transience of life. That's why we go to the mountains and live it fully.

Cross on neighbouring three-thousander Baumbachspitze-3106m.

These crosses on summits are visible from afar.

I spotted this cross today on the path to the grave of an American pilot buried during the war near the partisan hospital Bela in Kamniška Bistrica.

Cross at planina Dol-planina Dol is under Velika planina.

Guss Jesus on the larch along the path from Markova raven to Planina Koren. It is at the junction where to the right from the marked path via Devovčeva planina an unmarked path branches to Planina Koren and Košutno (a bit before the water source with troughs).
Jesus is quite high on the larch and hard to notice, nor is it very big.
Who when and why put it there maybe someone else knows...

From Kamniška Bistrica I haven't gone to Planina Koren yet. But I know where this path joins the path from Kriška planina.

On the paths to Štefano gora you always discover new crosses and much more.

This is the first cross we encountered on the Povezovanje pod krošnjami path.

This is a renovated plague memorial. The plague indeed ravaged our regions centuries ago.

If this is the patron saint of Štefanja gora - St. Stefan, I don't know.

Today I went for a walk to Sv. Peter above Begunje. For the first time I went along the marked path that starts in the pasture above Plečnik's chapel. You reach a wonderfully renovated chapel with beautiful frescoes.
