Trail trampled near the barns, a bit windy towards the top hut, up to 15 cm snow. Crampons for safety are not superfluous.

Today instead of Gorenjska to Notranjska, which turned out to be a bullseye. At the beginning a muddy and dirty path greeted us, which with altitude changed to nice snowy and walkable. When we came out of the forest the sun warmed us too, which nicely softened the snow. Nice views all around on the way, quite some people at the hut. We also martinčkali for a thick hour. Back the path was fine only last part wet and muddy, as snow melted. Attaching some pics lp Tanja and Borut

Slivnica today in sun, full of visitors. Quite some crowd on path. Path mostly bare everywhere in sun. Even mud. In shady parts ice (at night freezes what melts during day) and quite dangerous to slip. Need to be a bit careful. Crampons handy here, as sections like bob track for some 50 m.
Otherwise nice view, hut open, staff friendly - you won't regret if you decide to visit Slivnica and witches these days.

Today finally again a nice family »little ascent« - from Cerknica to Slivnica…
I went to relive memories of childhood years… back then I often visited relatives in Cerknica and still vividly remember how I firmly believed that witches were at home on Slivnica… and kept going to look if I would see Ursula flying on a broom… … Well, today she wasn't »home« either …
But up there it's already real spring: snowdrops blooming, bellflower by path awakens spring, and fritillaries and crocuses peeking out, hazel blooms so somewhere all yellow by path, only grass not greened yet….
Path bare and dry, only at a few spots where last snow patches melting a bit damper (pessimists would say muddy )…
@primoza and others who may still be under the impression of negative comments regarding hut service: we »dared«, left snack home and decided on late lunch. Young staff was extremely friendly, food (we ate ričet) excellent, prices very reasonable, so this visit will remain in nice memory.
At the end we also walked by Lake Cerknica… We really »fletno« had…

Pohodnica53 and GITA, how should we know we're from the forum if we don't know each other? We really should have some kind of recognizable sign. I'd also be very happy about such a meeting. Something has already been said about it, but realization probably isn't easy. Maybe wear a badge in certain colors or something similar. And when I reach the top of the mountain or at the hut, I'd love to shout to the hikers if anyone's from this forum. It'd be interesting to see the reaction if I really did that. Best regards.

Afternoon visit from Cerknica. We wanted to descend to Brezje and then back to Cerknica by road, but the map misled us and brought us a bit roundabout back to the trail we came up on. At the hut we didn't notice any sign for Brezje, but access from Cerknica is very well marked. Trail dry, views today modest. Hut on Slivnica under renovation, but drinks available anyway, didn't ask about food.

Always friendly path from Cerknica almost deserted on Monday. Peace, pleasant scent and - surprisingly - not too much heat until nearly 12. Hut open but no one in or around it. So we picnicked, each with her own sandwich and returned to the valley. For the (really good) pancakes will have to climb another time .

On Slivnica even on this gray day sun warmed us. No views really, but quite full lake we spotted from the top. Staff at hut ultra friendly, food excellent. Slivnica pancake rules .
