Bernarda and Emil worked hard and presented us with the gems of Notranjska. First, a visit to the Cerknica Lake museum, very educational, exemplarily arranged and a pleasant presentation of the inventor Vekoslav Kebet and daughter Katarina, really worth seeing.
Then ascent to Slivnica, easy pleasant path, this time spring-like, without forecasted storms. In contrast, last year on March 8 we had real winter idyll. At the summit a few pics, we see that one can also come from other starting points, from Martinjak or Grahovo, also one hour to the top. Significantly longer is the access from Pokojišče (village above Borovnica) or Nova vas (3.5 to 4 hours). In the hut one part nicely renovated, or we missed it last time. Dandelions blooming nicely, cuckooflowers too.
We had to hurry to the next goal. Snežnik Castle, Notranjska jewel from 13th century, current appearance from second half of 19th century, nicely restored in 2008. Salons, bedrooms, 150-year-old furniture, even fridge, gorgeous stoves, portraits, honey, trophies... Here Krpan path and European footpath E6 go, but we will walk these paths next time. Followed visit to Križna Cave, naturally preserved, without electricity, without concrete paths, we got boots, lamps, good guide, short tour and boat ride followed. Here also option of four-hour and longer tour. In this cave they found bones of cave bear, which we didn't see this time, nor bats. After varied day socializing and dinner suited us... We saw a lot, ideas opened for more detailed views of Notranjska beauties, thanks to couple B + E...
