The sun again beckons to nature. Wonderful colors of nature also on the top, especially the view of the flooded Lake Cerknica. The hut on Slivnica is open also on weekdays.

On 3.11. I was up there with my daughters, so late we walked down in the dark. Nice feeling, view still pleasant though it blew quite a bit up there. Staff in the hut very friendly and helpful. We'll come again.

On the last day of the year we did a long-planned hike to Slivnica. The path from Cerknica is pleasant, easy, good to stretch the legs. The ground was frozen but no obstacle. The views are very nice to all parts of Slovenia and interesting to see the highest peaks from a different angle. Sadly the fog in the valley didn't clear by our departure from the top so we missed the view of Cerknica Lake. Nice trip to the other end of Slovenia.

First Saturday group with mates in company of witches and bears. Well, they also went somewhere as not seen except at home. Spring conditions. Looked a bit for dandelions, no snow, almost no mud, over 10 degrees. Nice spot of our land.

Since this is probably the last powder in Butale, it was worth using the last chance on the home hill before the sirocco and rain come. Sadly, the predicted clearing was delayed to late at night and this morning, so it was dark as pitch.

Under Mountain list - Goriško, Notranjsko and Snežniško mountains - Slivnica 1114 - 5 paths well described. Suggest up from Cerknica and down SE to Martinjak (or a bit longer, less steep, to Grahovo). In both cases you reach a gravel road where you turn right towards Cerknica (gravel road runs parallel above the regional road Grahovo-Martinjak-Cerknica). Option also descent to S and then SW towards village Brezje, from there by road to Cerknica (this path goes partly also on the gravel road that leads from Cerknica towards Slivnica). Also check the map, which opens with a click under each of the path descriptions to Slivnica. Good luck, nice weather and views I wish, if you go already today.

Everyone probably knows Slivnica and its mistress Ursula, but probably knows less about the depths of Lake Cerknica and its master Jezerko.

Today Slivnica was despite prolonged fog very much visited and nicely passable. Just because of the rain a nice view of the entire Cerkniško polje opened up, which was really a nice experience.

The path to Slivnica was spring-like, warm, teloh, trobentice and resje are growing, people walk, cycle and ride on it and except a little mud no obstacles. Today. Hut open, at the top friendly written greeting. Whoever wrote it, same to him.
