Smrekovec

Second day of vacation. Also today's morning dictated nice weather. Because of that, we got in the car and drove towards Mislinja or Beli Vodi. Like many other visitors of our beautiful mountains, we parked the car near the interesting two wooden sculptures that quench the thirst of thirsty hikers in summer. First on the road and then through the forest, we boldly headed to the top. Soon we arrived at a farm that looked abandoned. Past it, we went towards the observation point, chapel and stone trough with water. Since the sun was strong and warmed us, we rested here a bit and cooled off with refreshing water. Then we continued. The path became somewhat steeper; a little below the hut we ran into snow. Even though it was trodden, due to the strong sun it was south-facing and didn't slip. Upon arrival at the hut we were completely alone, so we could listen to the loud screeching of a gentle bird in the forest above us. After a short rest, we continued the path to the top, where we could enjoy the warm sun without wind and a nice view all around. At the top, and also later at the hut, we stayed some more time, and in the afternoon, full of the absorbed beautiful day, returned to the valley and on to Ljubljana. Where we'll go tomorrow, we'll see. Although the day was very nice, still one black spot: Neither at the hut nor at the top did we find a stamp or seal to immortalize this nice day in our booklet. We hope some member of PD Črna na Koroškem will read this and ensure that the stamp or seal is available also for those visiting your BEAUTIFUL Smrekovec also in winter. We'll go up again, Nives and Branči.

How long is the drive here from Ljubljana? I don't know this end, but it looks nice on the pictures. Maybe I'll visit end of week. I was thinking Grintovec but... I don't feel like long hiking.

In my first post there was unfortunately a mistake, as I wrote Mislinje instead of Mozirje zadrega

. Now the route Šiška via motorway to Mozirje exit, to Ljubija settlement and then to parking in White Waters and back to Šiška I did 157 km. nasmeh

Another variant: you can also drive via Črnivec pass from Kamnik, when you get to the valley turn left for Ljubno ob Savinji then through Ljubno the road leads to Smrekovec!
Road is a bit more twisty, but you'll avoid toll payment on AC!

Ljubija to parking in White Waters is like? If it's
nasty gravel with holes?

From Ljubija to parking is approx 10km, of that 5km gravel.

Yesterday I visited Smrekovec, started in White Waters. The path is muddy in the lower part, higher up there was southern snow, dangerous for slipping on descent. I myself fell twice so my butt was completely wet.

Yesterday I visited Smrekovec, nice weather, on the path we ran into snow patches towards the top but it can be walked without problem! Start was from Ljubno ob Savinji along the road a while by car then on foot.

Today a walk to Smrekovec and finally after a long time the little one outside in nature again. Road from Ljubno to Smrekovec drivable all the way to the last turnoff to the hut, so walking approx. 30-40 min to hut. There were a couple of ski tourers too, view from top wonderful, day super, sunshine, view... super nasmeh

Original plan for today was Snežnik, but due to bad weather yesterday and also bura today, I decided to visit Smrekovec. Started from Beli Vodi, path nice, partly icy, on top quite some wind. Views from top wonderful. Attaching some pics.... nasmeh

On Monday, I visited Smrekovec, although the weather wasn't the best for photos, still some pics ...(sometimes there was a crowd here... mežikanje

and nice chamois that excited visitors??)

Today from direction Beli Vodi, by car to farm Brložnik. Path short, not strenuous but nice. At start accompanied by snowfall and fog, on way back it cleared, KSA appeared, and sunshine peeked briefly from clouds, it was another nice day nasmeh

This time to Smrekovec I started from Sleme. Path is really nice, but you're always in forest, but then view from top is so much nicer jezik

Golte - Smrekovec

In the morning we drive on the new asphalt road towards Golte. A bit higher than farm Keber we leave the car (that's one more farm higher, which they are slowly renovating) from here paragliders also launch.
At 8:50 we start walking on forest track. It joins marked path a bit higher. We continue past hunter's hut and shortly before 10 we are at top of Boskovec 1587m.
There we meet three hikers. Mrs. Jožica joins us on the way further to Smrekovec. At the saddle where path descends to Kal and after viewing Smrekovec top she decides not to continue with us. Top is quite far and obligations she still has are more important "we were sorry she left us!". She decides to return towards Mozirje hut - and she has a dog too, which joined her somewhere there and then walked beside her - black Newfoundland
At 11:45 two hikers at Smrekovec top, the other two waiting for us in the hut. Hut is full of hikers and pleasantly warm. After refreshment we head to Stari Stani. In one and a half hours we are at Golte and at 14:30 at the car.
Path was pleasant for walking. Snow up to 5cm. Road to Smrekovec covered with snow and underneath pure ice.
Nice day and nice circular path, lasting from 8:50 to 14:30.
