The newly arranged road now attracts more visitors. Anyway, wandering around Golte is already a pleasure and for those to whom that's too little it's a good starting point for continuing to Smrekovec.

Today on touring skis from Berložnik. Start cloudy and light snowfall, at Smrekovec summit already clearer with views on sunny Savinjske. Snow so-so, about half meter; down back to Berložnik in under 45 mins. Met at least twenty touring skiers, about ten hikers and two cross-country skiers. Nice trip!

Hello, I hope this isn't an inappropriate question. I don't know this area yet, but I'd like to visit Smrekovec this weekend. I'm curious about the current condition of the road Ljubija - Bele vode (Rebršak), is it snowy? Best, Ljubica

The question was really unnecessary. The road to the starting point at the Rebršak farm is clear to the end of the asphalt, then there's enough gritted gravel. Today Smrekovec was apparently one of the few sunlit mountain destinations. There's not much snow, didn't need gaiters or crampons. Wonderful winter day, enjoyable hike and nice stop at the Smrekovec hut.

I also headed to Smrekovec yesterday afternoon. The sun was trying, but not very successfully melting the clouds. Still, it was nice to observe the winter idyll along the path.

This morning I went to Smrekovec again. As usual, start at Sp. Brložnik. From the valley in the morning there was high cloud cover, but the top of Smrekovec was in the sun. No frost, because of temperature inversion. Little snow on the path, quite southern. Path well trodden.
Quite a few visitors. Mostly old acquaintances. Great view from the top in all directions. Excellent walk to loosen the bones.

jprim, I think your question or remark is completely out of place here. Especially since I read your writing in "general discussions". But I'll answer anyway. Snowmobile and quad drivers do NOT count among my old acquaintances. My acquaintances go to Smrekovec regularly on foot in winter, like me, or with touring skis if conditions allow. I too am bothered by disturbing nature in an inappropriate or even prohibited way, but as Hribovc88 nicely wrote in general discussions: "No point worrying about such people or things..."
and
"God is a just judge who rewards good and punishes bad."
Jelči, a bit more optimism and friendly looks when heading to the mountains. Not everything is black. There are still many beautiful things if we want to see them.
On this forum I want to see your yesterday's "nicer pics" that you say are left for current conditions, but unfortunately we can't see them yet.
Lots of optimism on future paths! See you on Smrekovec.

So it bothers you too, but you'd rather look away than do something about it.
The saddest thing is that locals drive snowmobiles, who don't care about nature at all, instead of preserving pristine nature.
"No point worrying about such people or things..." the mountaineer's quote isn't the most appropriate.
I at least took a step forward by posting this - that's something.
And my plan for the future - rather go somewhere else where they appreciate natural treasures.

After Shrove Tuesday Saturday it was time for some fresh "air" again. The weather in the valley didn't look very friendly, but a bit higher the sun came out. Start at Sp. Brložnik, which was completely foggy this morning. Not much snow on the path. In a few places the path is a bit icy. Lots of visitors. Some used crampons for walking, but with a little care you can walk fine without them too. At the hut the fog cleared and the sun shone. At the top "bliss". No wind and sunny. Views to the west were obscured by fog, but nice view towards Peč and further into Austria. Around the valleys foggy sea. For illustration attaching a few pics.

The sun knew today that my face wouldn't take another "sun shock" ...otherwise a bit higher from Mozirska koča I already caught some clarity, then the foggy curtain fell which accompanied us the whole way and that's why the originally planned tour got shortened. Path is trodden and especially hardened by snowmobiles, on Smrekovec quite some people, Mozirska koča was deserted despite excellent roll and friendly caretakers. Still it was a nice day, company super
