Španov vrh: from Jesenice via Jelenkamen
|
| heinz29. 10. 2009 20:12:10 |
A bit longer tour (total 7 hours) was done today; directly from home in Jesenice, over Jelenkamen and Lenčkov Špik, (and one "unnamed" peak), to Španov vrh, where larches are turning golden. Due to lack of sun rays they look still quite green on photos. Otherwise peace... Recommend to photographers (with better camera than mine) Good luck, heinz!

Today was the other variant; paths and conditions, of course.. Start from Ukova (Jesenice), along left stream, over Jesenice pastures, across road Križovec - Prihodi, to marked path, etc.. to Šp. Peak. Snow 20-30 cm, but only from ca 1200 m (crust icy). Weather these days,= nice of course. This path seems to me from all (three) starting from Jesenice somehow shortest, - good 2 hours walk. Good luck, heinz!

Today (somewhat for trash hunting) along the path from Jesenice to Straža, via Kozjek, Jelenkamen, Lenčkov Špik to the top, from there to Črni vrh to GRS hut, back via Dole rovti and same path home. Whole path except Španov-Črni v. completely dry. Snow melting nicely also on Golica, Klek, Hruški vrh.. (for some ski touring already bad, except Dovška Baba and Austrian side- Kleiner Frauenkogel, Roschitz alm. Weather warm, sunny, few visitors (3).

Yesterday I went over Jelenkamen and Lenčkov Špik to the Prihodi-Križovc road. After good 10 min walk I descended on marked path to Pristava. Nice weather, nice tour.

Today's circular tour: Straža - Jelenkamen - Španov vrh - Sedem grabnov - Ukova - home, recharged my batteries. At Šp. vrh they are preparing a small terrace with benches and a fairly large panoramic-info picture/board (which is not yet in place at the prepared spot). Well, mayoral elections are approaching, someone wants to repeat the mandate, while on the other side paths to there (e.g. over Sedem grabnov) are almost impassable due to fallen trees. Good thing I like wilderness.. and I'm not a tourist. Authorities have banned spitting. Probably because in Jesenice there are so many things that simply don't deserve anything else. Jesenice still dreams of becoming a tourist municipality or town someday... Well, because of the board those dreams probably won't come true yet.

Another tour in complete peace - today. At the top pleasantly, drowsily warm. Autumn despite lower temperatures is still far.. Fatigue after the path walked from Jesenice and back - just right. Below Jelenkamen I meet a mushroom picker, below Španov vrh on return one hiker. That's all. This is what peace is - not Triglav two weeks ago.

This is how it was on Friday (today probably quite different due to rain): snow up to 30 cm, in places even more. This new info board got its final shape, next to it a new small hut is being built (bivouac?).. Weather and views were wonderful, larches golden colored.

Is this beauty a blindworm? Although snakes and similar reptiles are not sympathetic to me, in nature all are beautiful. It's nice if one sees also "side" curiosities, which are full on hikes, just need to see them. I myself am very attentive to some "little things" that many don't see. Nice regards

Yes of course, blindworm. They say it doesn't belong to snakes. Although maybe that's not so important. Snakes are really unsympathetic.., but that's also part of their defense strategy. Interesting already the fact that encounter with it can shake, fascinate a person strongly. On the other hand it is so shy that we rarely manage to photograph it. In all that I see some charm. As for seeing details: in my case the motto helps - the goal is the path. Really, missing at least a bit more descriptions of various experiences from the path.

Today (starting from home) still dry, tomorrow it should be different. Occasionally snow flurries, on return at Dolah sun - chance to recharge batteries. Up top (Šv) they put up some new hut, probably private. Descent via Jk along cable, dry there. Via Hlevček (eastern or "new" path) at ca. 950 slippery in places. Careful descent.. Already tomorrow: snow delivery.

After two weeks break due to injury, I headed up there today. As far as it goes, I say. Goal was Jk, pulled through to top of Dol. Used crampons, snow very frozen - hard, walk on top. Most ice esp where footprints. No problem on ascent by chain, no snow there at all. Snow reappears continuing from summit. Above 1000 m - much colder. Met three hikers from Pristava direction to Jelenkamen.

Great! In summer I met someone carrying one about that size in a backpack to Triglav. Mine is too big for rucksack, won't let me lift him.. Winter on snow is unpleasant, snow sticks to the fur on his legs.. then work and "suffering"..

Heinz then looks like a little New Year's tree decorated with white balls of all sizes, I know it...
