A week ago really. We probably didn't understand each other; I mean - from the top, i.e., at the logbook box. Before that, trees (especially oak right below the summit) obstructed the view.

...Yesterday a friendly little dog followed Ira and me from Č.V. to Š.vrh. Then we couldn't get rid of her. She walked with us all the time, so I had to return to the hut at Č. vrh. When I asked whose it was, no one knew her, she had no collar. We barely shook her off. Maybe someone misses her?

...Jelenkamen...Well, they've sawed something again there towards the top since I was last there. I thought of going back via Kozjek, but time didn't allow. I always stray a bit down there among the leaves before finding the right path. Then back to the ridge and via Dole to Jesenice. But our Jelenkamen is very similar to Jerebikovec from Mojstrana in steepness and time, dude..

...A bit to our viewpoint Jelenkamen (thanks Heinz). It wasn't as nice a day as yesterday, but still nice. Path to Kalvarija widely trodden, further to the viewpoint two tracks. Towards the top only Boštjan's track, who went back via Dole. Thanks, it eased my way a bit. You do get a bit tired, steepness and snow, well it goes. At the top I planned over the ridge to Dole. But my little dog lady didn't want to jump over the holes after me. Doesn't move, just waits. Probably thought in her doggy head that I'd carry her. She remembers quickly what's good for her. So we went back the same way. Well now the trail is well trodden, so cheerfully to the top of Jelenkamen...

... In the morning when I look towards Mežakla and Stol everything is visible, no fog. Jelenkamen is really inviting me. A bit doubtful if anyone has gone through the last snow yet. Lonely track past Kalvarija, which soon dropped down. Further ahead older snow-covered footprints. It was quite good walking on that snow up to the cables. Up it was still okay somehow, back down harder. Wet snow sliding on grass, no grip on rocks. Well, it turned out fine. Good thing I have pants that don't get soaked when sliding down the last part. It was nice, good feeling after these winter days

...Jelenkamen...path wet slippery, especially before the cables there's a few meters of slide. Wet clay especially nasty on descent when no proper grip. Gobic nothing

Descent from Španov vrh currently still possible. Base firm, occasionally icy. Trampled yes, but quite worn. Chairlift not operating (not yet this year). Only option = ski touring or on foot.
