Speed on ascents (like time) is relative and depends on the individual's fitness. Currently I'm in pretty good form, so for the ascent (per phone time at photo) from car to top ca. 4h 45min, descent under 2h.

In the same situation 2 years ago at that time halfway and probably turned back desperately - time really says nothing. Tour demanding due to trailbreaking, that's it. Recommend ascents in early morning hours, after 11 or 12 sun hits this side - descent conditions worsen hour by hour.

Today on Špik through Kačji Graben. Above 2000m conditions perfect, lower sank a bit as higher temps noticeable.
Škrlatica, Razor, Prisojnik, Mojstrovki, Jalovec in the background...1

One will be enough from the top, but last time I met a HR group and they had two each, one even had three (two climbing and one hiking velik nasmeh )

Today on the Pišnica - Špik path (through Kačji graben) all sun, fog and snow with rain. Conditions in the morning still ok, later worse minute by minute, but enjoyed in good company anyway.

Yesterday only sun and almost summery warm.... In the morning the snow base mostly held the weight, a bit before the summit thawing was already felt. At the top no wind and enjoying the views and company. On the way down already nicely softened, accordingly occasional sinking. Everyone enjoyed it nasmeh

and we look around the surroundings..... also a bit to the neighbors7
and bite into the last steep slope8

Yesterday, 11. 6., up through Gruntovica - almost no snow, some small snow patches after descent from Lipovica (before last climb) bypassable dry. Views paradisiacal. Sour milk in Krnica for gods. Safe step, MM

What's the path from Krnica like now? Someone wrote it's collapsed... Where is that landslide exactly? What about descent over Kačji graben?
Is there still snow anywhere, was someone maybe on Špik last weekend?

Was last weekend on Špik via Kačji graben. Path no problem, except towards top shortly below start of climbing part snowfield covers path. So walked a bit on snow and a bit beside snow "live". Snow soft anyway, probably even more gone this week and no problem. Rocks and last part snow-free.
On top met three hikers with dog via Lipnica, no path issues mentioned. Not sure, asked more about snow not landslide.

Path repaired since yesterday. It's the section where you climb from stream bed into forest.

Spik has always been a beautiful mountain to me. I set off on Monday, August 14th. Through Kačji graben. They say the scree slopes towards the top are steep. It holds true. Weather wasn't the best. The trail was nice. The elevation only rose slowly to the scree. Then suddenly over 2000. A young foreign couple, a guy and a girl without poles, went ahead of me on the scree. They were thoroughly exhausted. Then you're quickly at the top. But it clouded over and stayed that way. I descended via Lipnica to the hut in Krnica. They had all beds occupied there. They told me to wait if someone cancels. I decided to go to the car in Pišnica and stop at the first hut - Mihov dom, where I got accommodation and that bed in which I slept well. Friendly warden. Because the next day Prisank was waiting for me.
I decided for this path, although it is preferably used for descent1

then the sky started to cloud over3
the ditch really lives up to its name4
quite a lot of the path is through the forest5

Today to Spik from Russian cross past Krnica, return through Kačji graben to Pišnica.
In the valley mandatory cooling in Lake Jasna velik nasmeh
The trail has no special features.

...We met Karibu, you young ones are fast. Beautiful mountain Spik, to me nicer trail past the Hut in Krnica, although a bit longer. We descended the scree through Kačji graben. This descent is not the most knee-friendly, but faster. nasmeh

...Majdag; I think we met a bit below the Spik summit too. But for sure we met and got to know the Saturday hero on Spik - young Marsel. Congrats from our side too, if you're reading this forum.
Otherwise: great ascent, even better view from Spik summit, maybe Kačji graben on return could be a meter shorter nasmeh

Gor nik, yes we met right below the summit and chatted a bit. Spik is really a nice mountain, the approach isn't that scary either, but nicer from the hut.nasmeh
