Some nice autumn glimpses from the middle of the path to Spik from start at Russian cross past hut in Krnica to Spik top. Descent same path. Path without special features. But needs quite some fitness. Views wonderful.

Today on SPIK excellent winter conditions, snow starts around 1400m and holds well. Towards top lots of snow and good conditions for ice axing nasmeh

The nicer path seems longer to me, so I went up and down past the Krnica hut. The secured parts of the path (last picture-first part) are in order. The whole path is nice, but it ascends constantly - hard to imagine a different path to Spik. Advantage is to start early, then much of the path is still in shade. The summit logbook is full.

Afternoon after a short storm, heading to Špik. It thundered high up in the Škrlatica-Oltar area, waited lower down not far from the hut. I continue to Gamsova špica, visible path and sawn bushes, last short steep part and short ridge. I return to the marked path and then higher to Na glavah. I take a break, drink something and instead of going back head to Špik. Under Lipnica the cable is torn off, it pulls a bit more and consequently someone can fall a few meters out. I reach Špik quickly, views eek

.....and mists rushing there and back.

Closed sections on the path:

Steel protections are damaged, so the path from Krnica to Špik is CLOSED until further notice.

The path is really closed, but it is normally passable (status as of 14.8. this year).

How's the path Hut in Krnica - Špik - Kačji graben? Is the path (already) passable? Has anyone been up after the floods?

The above mentioned path (cable) is open again since Monday. The Krnica hut keeper just removed the closure sign in my presence.

From Lipnica summit about 15 min descent to junction for Kačji graben path and from there to top scrambling starts without any protections, steep terrain with lots of scree and crumbly. With proper caution and steps to summit (& back) no problem. Sunrise on top pure 10, breathtaking views. Descended via Kačji graben, start very pleasant with huge scree saving time and energy velik nasmeh

When path enters forest slog begins, lots of mud, slippery rocks, lots of blowdowns zavijanje z očmi
