Not much to report. Little snow, only the ice tongue at the last cables of Bovška škrbina is very tricky. The return path via Prag is also nothing special.

Wishing everyone many summits, and rescuers calm days HAPPY 2017nasmeh

Last year they renovated this path. They replaced those first two cables even though they didn't lack anything. I seriously thought they would reinstall cables further on where they used to be, up to the gully entrance. Of course not, but they installed them higher at the passage to the "slab", where in my opinion there was no need at all.
Years ago Lojze and I stored some cable meters nearby, this year we'll install it, we already have the pegs.

If you're used to this then ok, otherwise you'll probably yell at Lojze to have Cvirn rope you up gj

19.02.17 Bambergova

My better half dropped me off at Peričnik and went to Radovna, from where they will head to Kredarica. The road is not passable to Vrata. Probably the most useful info from conditions is up to Luknja. From the junction to Prag all the way to the saddle it was wading to the knees, sometimes over. From Luknja to ZTP still quite good conditions. Blockage only before the Plemenice summit, where I bypassed it left of the summer exit. Just before B.Škrbina in winter there's an extremely icy five-meter section. From here to the top pure poetry. Descent to my group and friends at Kredarica and later to Radovna. It was a nice sunny day.

Actually I didn't even plan on Sunday 18 6. to go via Bambergova. For a day trip you need to go very early from home if you plan to reach the summit and descend, plus driving takes a couple hours. I went from Zadnjica to Luknja. Then hesitated between Stenar and Plemenice. You pick one. Yesterday it was completely calm at Luknja. And met only one mountaineer. And he was a foreigner. On summit chamois as usual. Path completely dry. On Triglav ledges still lots of snow. In the notch also. Foreigners came without ice axe. They descended a bit awkwardly there afterwards because snow was hardened. Day without cloud. Too warm. Good at least some wind now and then. If I saw right they opened the hut at Dolič. Didn't go there because hurried to valley. Snow patches below Dolič still persist. Met no one on way to valley.
I even had the company of a local woman all the way to Luknja, who then turned back. And those two and a half hours passed quickly1

That's the snow patch on the slope. I was a bit worried, but it was walkable even in low boots7
Towards the top. It's getting warmer.8
Those two up there were measuring and recording something9
This is at Bovška škrbina. Many without ice axe. Better to have it anyway10

Hi, I'm interested if Tominškova is already snow-free and normally passable. If someone walked recently, please write. Thanks and best, JOŽE.

Plemenice are normally passable, only in Bovška škrbina there is still snow.

Hi, how's the snow? Is ice axe still needed? Thanks. lp

Hard to say. Better to have it than not. Probably good steps, last time there were. Definitely lots of snow already gone in the notch compared to two weeks ago.

In the notch the snow can already be bypassed, no winter gear needed. Fresh info from a colleague who was on this route yesterday.
Good luck

Welcome information, thanks. Time-wise it got a bit complicated for me so I hope it will be the beginning of the second week.
Thanks. LP

Sunday morning from Vrata via Plemenice to Triglav... To the Hole the scree is a bit strenuous, but that's how it is... I expected a very demanding secured path, which it isn't entirely. A large part right after entering the wall from the Hole is completely unsecured. There every mistake is fatal. I am writing this mainly as a warning for those who don't know this path yet. Tominc's is a real walk compared to this path. Otherwise, great views to the Gorenjska and Primorska sides. Across the snowfield before the turnoff to Dolič an ice axe or crampons are welcome, but at this time one can improvise with poles or bypass the snowfield. For me the most beautiful but also the most strenuous and "dangerous" path from Vrata to Triglav.
