We returned yesterday from Okrešelj, gave up Skuta because weather so-so..went Turski žleb - Turska gora -Kotliči- Kamniško sedlo - Okrešelj.
On Kotliči one very steep snowfield, mandatory ice axe and crampons.
We were five.
First went up with 2 ice axes and crampons, threw more down to us and rope to belay just in case.
Soon I'll add photos.

The only thing I forgot at home was the camera, so I'm waiting for my friends who were with me to send their pictures, and then I'll put them on Hribi.net

Here, my friend sent me pictures from Turska gora from Saturday 27.06.2009, so you can see them too. Namely, don't be surprised what I have smeared on my face, because last year when I went to Adlersruhe 3500 m, the sun burned my face and neck because I didn't apply cream, and it was cloudy all the time: but this Saturday the weather was also quite changeable and rain washed us that day surely 5 times. Ha, ha. You can see on these pictures how much snow is still in Turkish gully and in Kotlici.

Hi antik,

I'm interested if there is still snow in the rock between Kamnik saddle and Okrešelj.

Thanks.

in the rock itself between Okrešelj and Kam. saddle there is no snow but the ropes are torn in two places, but there is snow between the scree and the rock, and there when we were just descending my friend slipped and fell, luckily nothing happened to him. here is a picture of the fall.
Fall. Fortunately everything ended well.1

On Sunday 28.6 I turned from the path to Brana towards Kotlici to look a bit. As far as I could see the path is dry, only at the bottom there is still a bigger snowfield. Due to bad weather I didn't count on more, so I went only to Brana. antik given that you walked the entire path I'm asking you, when crossing Kotlici do you cross only one snowfield, the rest is dry? Thanks for the answer and pictures. LP

When crossing Kotlici you cross only one snowfield, which is very steep and visible in the pictures, the rest of the path is dry. But on the path Okrešelj - Turkish gully - Turska mountain - Kotlici - Kamnik saddle - Okrešelj there are 5 snowfields, (2 in Turkish gully, at the beginning and end, 1 in Kotlici, 1 before Kamnik saddle and 1 after Kamnik saddle )
but the hardest to cross is the one in Kotlici, the others are gentle and easy.

Rinka Waterfall - Okrešelj - Turkish gully - Turska mountain - Kotliči - Kamnik saddle - Okrešelj
Yesterday first a lot of fog, then clearer, but peaks still in fog. Therefore ascent to Brana skipped. Ropes in Turkish gully some loose and frayed. That day they were renovating the path Rinka - Kamnik saddle, so above in the rock new ropes were placed and motor saws were singing all day. Attaching some snapshots from the path, where fog was writing a mountain story…

Today I walked the route planned yesterday from Kamniška Bistrica-Kamniško sedlo-Turska gora via Kotliče-bivouac under Skuta via žmavcarje back to K.Bistrica. The path was dry except at 2 spots, so no crampons or ice axe were needed. I like the path a lot, so I will return to this end.

On Wednesday 2.12. my friend and I headed to Turska gora. (sorry for the late info but better late than never). Snow starts a bit above Okrešljem, Turski žleb fully covered some places hard blown snow (mandatory crampons ice axe) to Turska gora tough... icy base crampons barely gripped so much caution needed, but summit reward with nice view. lp

Snow on Monday rotten, but for ascent quite pleasant... On descent it sinks a bit more, except in the last part, where you can nicely slide on your butt...

Today I visited Turska gora from Kamniško sedlo and back via Brana too. Despite bad weather thick fog the tour was nice especially safe because markings and wire ropes in excellent condition all praise to markists maintaining the path actually this praise is also the reason I posted. Keep it up with the path maintenance.nasmehnasmeh

Today early morning to Logarska dolina, can drive all the way to the turnaround although the road higher is icy, but with a bit of skill it worked. Then to Okrešelj (part of path icy) and there was a track to here, further only some ski touring tracks, and even those went to Savinjsko sedlo, so nothing left but to break trailvelik nasmeh Approach to gully all kinds of snow, powder, slush, hard snow, sinking almost to knees in places... in the gully itself hard snow, left side drifted and soft, right upper part dry rock. Path to summit OK, except strong wind. Back through gully quite adrenaline, in the middle suddenly heard a weird sound, looked up and...... rocks falling and rolling past me like crazy at very high speed. Luckily only hit my knee and I just hoped it would end soon, then full speed out of gully. Day otherwise very nice, sun, clouds, wind, cold... all that is winternasmeh All winter gear mandatory!

Hat off.
Hope you didn't climb alone, such ascents in these conditions can be dangerous without proper belay.
