Definitely plan to visit Uršlja gora once more in winter. Somehow winter ascents for me maintain fitness, and of course much more - for the soul, so I'm interested in the starting point of this path. I know the path from Nravske ledine and via Kozji ...

Starting point of the Železarska path is Iverčko jezero. Then just up, marked three hours. Lp Franc

Yesterday we were at Urški planinci PD Brežice. The tour was really winter idyllic. At Nravske ledine it was half, while at the top there was a good meter of snow. During the ascent light snow was falling, when we descended it was already hinting at nicer weather. Hut open on weekends and suitable also for times when higher up mostly avalanches threaten.

On Uršlja today about twenty cm of new snow. It was a bit foggy, but at the top the sun was already starting to show.

Today some friends from Postojna, Brezovice and Šentrupert near Braslovče headed to Uršlja gora. Started from Poštarski dom via Kozarnica to the top. All the way we walked in soft snow, crossed quite a few avalanches and just tired enough, some with crampons/two pairs/in backpack, arrived at the top, where the sun greeted us, then quickly hid. No wind, views quite good. After refreshment in the hut with friendly keepers, we happily descended to the starting point. Attaching some pics. Lp Borut.

On Sunday my wife and I went to Uršlja gora. Start Ivarčko jezero, then via ironworks path to the top. Snow starts halfway, at top still lots. Nice Sunday trip. Lp Franc

To "recharge batteries" I went to Uršlja gora. Path nice, in upper part still quite some snow that didn't settle. Did a loop, up via Kozarnica, down via Kal. Was very nice!!

Time for nearby tours and so on Sunday (25.10), after longer break, I visited Uršlja gora again, this time from Sleme direction; where road branches from Sleme towards Črna na Koroškem, I drove right another 10min- (to sign on pic) – slower ascent ca 1h40min, of course with breaks; wasn't the only one who spiced up sunny late-October Sunday with views from this mountain (see izigov too); it was worth it……

The ascent to Uršlja gora was clear and veeeeery cold today. Start at Sleme, back from the top via Naravske Ledine. Hut open, lots of snow, and plenty of sunshine too... Oh, and veeeeery cold

Today's exceptionally nice day dedicated to visiting Uršlja gora, fog below, from altitude about 1400 m a.s.l. sunshine, at the top of course fantastic, as can be seen on the pictures too. Start from Ivarčkega jezero via ironworks path, descent via Kal to Poštarski dom and then to Ivarčkega, so excellent loop tour. Not much snow, in the upper part about 10 cm. Hut open, warm and friendly.

Here are some more of my photos from yesterday's trip around Uršlja gora. Start at Naravske Ledine, return the same way. Beautiful views and the ascent itself was spoiled only by the overcrowding of the hut at the top. Hut full to the brim, noise so loud you go nuts, from the number of empty bottles on the tables, of course alcoholic drinks, you get the feeling you're at some village party.

in summer I was already on Uršlja but now seeing how nice it is in winter.. really no reason not to go...we agreed for Dec 25 but nothing came of it...so probably January I'll go alone

Given they're already poisoning us with those eggs it would be somewhat fair to have at least lower electricity bills!
