Also today it was quite windy on Velika planina. In the sun and in the lee it was pleasantly warm though. Road to Kranjski rak dry, further on also passable on snow. Visitors could be counted in dozens.

Snow was just traces. On Mali and Velika planina traces, as wind did its.... also to my eyes. It shone especially on Mali planina. A bit more snow from Zeleni rob onwards to planina Dol, where wind did its again. Blew it who knows where. Lots of visitors, huge. Luckily planina so vast they get lost. Most chose scenic church sv. Primož as final goal. Completely different story is path from Kamniška Bistrica over planina Dol. Yes, in good hour and half with buddy Jure - Cveto we finished our rushing. It was nice. Now I'm "snotty".

Today visit to my favorite among planinas. Although visited it many times in all seasons, it surprises me again with beauty. Parked at gostišče on Kranjski rak and headed along marked path to Gojska planina. After obligatory sunbathing returned via Marjanine njive to gostišče on road. Road snowy but passable. Really beautiful queen of our planinas! LP

No! If you have them, they'll be handy on the return. I preferred walking back on the road, just because of that. And I wish you lots of enjoyment on the "Velika"! Lp

Today on descent from Velika Planina below Črnuški dom I found brown sunglasses. I left them at Sv. Primož. lp

Does maybe anyone know what the path to Velika Planina from Macesnovec in Kam. Bistrica and via Rigelj is like? Is it marked? Trodden? Is there any avalanche danger in winter and can you get lost?

This is a hunting path. The path is not marked; there is no avalanche danger as there is too little snow. You have to be careful in the forest to turn left up at the right time, at one thick bent beech.

What is this bent beech? Beech? How long does it take to reach the plateau via this path?

It depends on how much fitness you have.

Okmodko, definitely first visit the mentioned path when dry. As brincelj already said, it's hunting, well trodden, steep in places, you can get lost in the middle of Ljubljana too, why not on it ... Joke aside - as a stranger I strongly advise against it in any snow. Regards.

I'm mainly interested in the time. Because I know all other paths, but they are long, so I'm always short on time when I want to explore the plateau a bit. This one looks the shortest on the map. I'll visit it anyway once, because none escapes me, but if there's snow I'll wait a bit more.

Aha thanks, now I know everything From the Little Red Riding Hood story I learned not to trust the wolf. So I'll go despite the snow. Joke! I'll wait for spring

From the parking lot to the first huts above Šimnovec it's 2 hours of moderate walking, but in warmer weather there are tons of ticks there. Seems like a lot of wildlife hangs out there.
