Yes, unless there are already twelve (12!) Czechs in the bivouac which has (I think) officially 9 beds. And this end of October. Long story ... It'll come up on GL. No guarantee you won't run into it, but anything possible. Safe travels!

Can someone provide a comparison, difficulty of Vevnica with ferrata on Mangart, peaks Ojstrica, Turska gora from Okrešelj, Rjavina, Cmir, Vrbanove špice, Baba above Jezersko, Škrlatica, Tosc from Vodnikova via pathless..., when I see your pics from Vevnica I'm a bit scared..

Hi; has anyone been these days to Vevnica via Via della Vita; how are the protections? I was in 2005, everything was OK: Lp

The Via della Vita path to Vevnica is renovated and nicely secured. Only a bit hard to follow the marks (red dots) in the upper part, when the ferrata is already over.

Nice greeting. Does anyone know what Via della Vita looks like? Is it passable yet??

Don't know, but on Saturday I contacted Italian Alpine Guides (CAI mountain guides) and they advised against going to this ferrata for at least another 3 weeks don't know if there's really still so much snow or if they're just too cautious. Lp

Thanks for info. We'll just wait a bit longer. No need to challenge it.

Hi, has anyone been to Vevnica via Via della vita these days? How is it at the ferrata entry? From the Belopeški Lakes you can see quite a big snowfield? Thanks, cheers.

Snow is no longer an obstacle, see the topic about Via della vita.

Yesterday on Vevnica. Up via Via della Viti then across K. Mangart via Via Italiana to the bivouac and down to the valley.

Around 11 o'clock we didn't rush. On this tour you shouldn't rush; you need to enjoy a bit too.

I'm curious how "hard" this Vevnica really is. Do you really need self-protection for the ascent? Asking from the perspective of someone who's already done some in these our mountains.

If you go from Koritnica, Kotovo sedlo or via Struga, then no. On former Via della morte better not. Anyway you can do without, but there are quite some chances something falls down and that's why it's good to have protection.
